The Divorced Heiress Revenge (Bella Thompson) novel Chapter 1804

Due to a large dose of sedatives and the immense psychological shock, Carrie did not wake up from her slumber even the next morning.

But what about Ryan?

He stood in the frost-covered courtyard, solitary and alone. His body was completely numb from the cold, and his handsome face was pale, but he did not dare to move. He knew he could not hold on much longer, but he truly did not want to leave. He still hoped that Carrie would see him first when she woke up.

In the past, they had been together day and night, entangled with each other. But now, even seeing each other has become so difficult.

In his daze, Ryan vaguely heard the sound of steady yet urgent footsteps approaching him.

“Ryan, let me take you back.” Justin’s deep voice carried a hint of brotherly reproach, but it was filled with strong concern. “You are being too reckless! Torturing yourself like this is meaningless!”

“Hah…” Ryan's frost-laden eyelashes drooped, and his frozen face could not muster a proper expression. “Back then, you also spent many nights squatting outside Yara Park to seek forgiveness from Bella and her family. Why can’t I do the same thing too?”

Justin was rendered speechless momentarily as his throat slightly choked. “Our situations are different.”

“What’s the difference? I want Grandpa Nigel to forgive me... I also want to see my wife... How is it different?!” Overcome with emotion, Ryan’s mind grew muddled, and his weakened body slowly leaned forward.

“Ryan!” Justin immediately held him steady with both arms. Thankfully, he was taller and stronger than Ryan, as any other ordinary man might not have been able to hold him up.

“Justin... I miss my wife.” Ryan’s eyes were swollen and red with tears. He pressed his forehead against Justin's broad shoulder, breathing heavily. His voice was hoarse as he sobbed. “Without seeing Carrie, I feel like my heart has been dug out.”

He pounded his chest with his fist. “It really hurts here... Justin, it hurts so much, I think I’m going to die from the pain.”

“Listen to me. Come to the hospital with me first. I’ll take you for a check-up.” Justin patiently patted Ryan’s trembling back, the shared pain welling up in his heart. “Then you can go to my place and get a good sleep. Let Wilma take care of you. When you wake up, I will let you see Carrie.”

After much persuasion, Justin and Dean managed to get Ryan into the car.

At the hospital, Ryan lay in the ward with an IV drip on his arm, coughing. He had indeed fallen ill from the cold.
