Upon hearing the grim news, Bella and Justin panicked.

“She’s not! I’ve searched everywhere, but she’s nowhere to be found!” Yasmin’s voice carried a hint of tears.

Bella forced herself to stay calm, softening her tone to soothe Yasmin’s emotions.

“Yasmin, earlier, you only told us that the kidnappers might’ve taken Carrie to the abandoned factory in the western suburbs. Now, tell me everything that happened. Who told you they took Carrie there?”

“Mr. Ralph and I had nearly caught up with the kidnappers. But the same assassin who took Carrie last time came out and blocked our way!”

“Him again?!” Bella felt her heart clench.

The image of Carrie’s sketch, which eerily resembled her brother, Hugh, flashed in her mind.

“I couldn’t beat him, so Mr. Ralph decided to hold him off while I went to rescue Young Madam!”

Yasmin gritted her teeth. “But this time, he had an accomplice, a woman! She fought me for a bit before deliberately injuring herself with my blade. Then, she secretly told me the kidnappers took Young Madam to the factory and urged me to hurry there. I thought she was an ally, but it was a ruse. It was a diversion tactic! She sent me away to make it easier to attack Mr. Ralph! Ms. Thompson… I’m such an idiot! I should just die!”

“Yasmin, Ralph is fine. He’s already leading a team toward the location. Don’t worry. Don’t blame yourself either.” Justin’s deep, calm voice patiently reassured Yasmin.

“She wore a mask, but her eyes left a deep impression on me.”
