The Divorced Heiress Revenge (Bella Thompson) novel Chapter 1904

Ryan knew this was Liam’s way of making the “game” more difficult for him.

He no longer played around with words and sprinted toward the elevator several meters away, frantically pressing the buttons.

A few excruciating seconds later, the doors slowly opened, only to reveal five henchmen waiting inside, wielding sharp blades.

...

At the swimming pool, Liam lay on a lounge chair, smoking his favorite cigar while playing his favorite rustic tunes on his phone. Every few minutes, he glanced at his watch, smacked his lips, and continued to rest his eyes.

Twenty minutes later, the elevator doors directly facing the pool beeped and opened. Liam's bored, half-closed eyes suddenly widened.

He saw Ryan stepping over bodies strewn on the ground.

Ryan’s steps were heavy but resolute as he walked toward the pool. He was like a war god emerging from a sea of corpses.

Blood stained his cold, handsome face, and his white shirt had been dyed a glaring, striking red.

“Wow, kid… Impressive.” Liam took a deep drag of his cigar, genuinely gaining a bit more respect for the young man. He had not expected Ryan to emerge alive from the elevator. But this kid just did it.

When Logan was young, he was a legendary figure in the underworld, and Ryan already had a faint resemblance to his grandfather in his prime.

Ryan walked into the pool area, staring intensely at his sworn enemy, his lips pale and his body cold.

He had more than one knife wound on his body, and his arm was still bleeding. The elevator battle had nearly cost him his life, and it was his budding love for Carrie and his worry for Yasmin that had driven him to endure the attacks.

“Ryan, you're something else.” Liam gave him a thumbs up.

“Where are Carrie and Yasmin?” Ryan panted, the sweat on his face washing away the bloodstains.
