The Divorced Heiress Revenge (Bella Thompson) novel Chapter 1957

Suddenly, a blur passed in front of him, and he felt a warm hand supporting his back, one hand gripping his arm.

“Careful!”

Grant looked up in surprise, meeting a pair of clear, bright eyes. He felt his heart skip a beat.

Bella mustered her strength and wheeled him back onto level ground. As she leaned over him, a few strands of her hair brushed against his face.

Grant clenched his jaw and smiled wryly. “I really have to thank you, Ms. Thompson. If not for you, I would be staying here tonight too.”

“It’s nothing. I did what anyone would do.”

Bella lowered her eyes, nudging a pebble away with her toe. “Your wheel must have been caught on a stone. That was really dangerous. Why isn’t Ms. Clarice with you?”

“I’m heading back to Meridan soon and wanted to visit my sister before leaving. I was just in the café next to the hospital, buying coffee for the doctors and nurses taking care of my sister. Clarice stepped into the supermarket nearby, so I was just waiting by myself. That’s when I got a call from Paul. I rushed over alone because I was just so worried about Carrie.”

He was still sweating and panting heavily.

During their brief encounters in the past, Bella had only ever seen the eldest Salvador impeccably composed. Even bound in a wheelchair, he always managed to maintain a dignified posture. She had never seen him look this ruffled before.
