The Divorced Heiress Revenge (Bella Thompson) novel Chapter 2010

Yvonne stared at the man’s confident smirk, her heart racing, thinking she must have heard wrongly.

For twenty-five years, she had been Christopher’s accessory, just a tool for his convenience, with nothing to call her own. But now Drew had boldly claimed he was her man.

He was hers...

The man swore angrily and bent to grab the gun on the floor, but Drew was faster and shot him twice more, hitting his left shoulder and right leg. The man fell, howling and collapsing to his knees.

Yvonne immediately stepped forward, picking up the gun and aiming it at the man.

“Don’t! Don’t kill me!” He begged, realizing he was still only in a towel.

“Tell me! What exactly did Christopher sell you? Is it medicine or drugs?” Yvonne’s eyes were full of fire, like those of a freed beast after years of hiding. “What other schemes are you involved in? Spill everything!”

Drew watched her silently, raising his eyebrows slightly.

For someone of his status, high-born socialites, officials, and even princesses were slated as his partners. But he was never interested.

He had no interest in noble backgrounds or even love. He wanted freedom and excitement.

Initially, he was drawn to Yvonne due to the adrenaline rush of their confrontations. But over time, he became addicted to this feeling, always itching to see her over and over again.

Tonight, that feeling only intensified. He could no longer bear to watch her flirt with other men.

Thus, despite the danger and trouble it would bring him, he had to come for her.

The man stammered, “He... He said it’s a drug! A banned substance imported from abroad!”

“From where?” Drew asked.

“I... I don’t know... I really don’t know!”

Yvonne glared at him, pressing the gun hard against his forehead. “You won’t cry until you see the coffin, will you?”

“It’s true. I don’t know! Christopher would never tell us distributors about the source. He keeps the big money for himself, and we only get a small share! But... But one time at the headquarters, he answered a call in a private room. I was drunk and didn’t hear him clearly, but I vaguely heard something about drugs and experiments...”

“Experiments?” Yvonne and Drew both frowned.

“I don’t know anything else. I really don’t know anything else!”

Yvonne took a deep breath and shook her head. “I’m not afraid of dying. I’m only afraid of the news leaking and Christopher finding out that someone has discovered his schemes. He will destroy the evidence and clean himself up. We finally got a lead, and we can’t afford to tip him off.”

Drew’s gaze intensified as he walked toward her.

Yvonne, alarmed, pushed against his chest. “Go! Leave quickly! I’ll handle this. Go!”

“We’ll leave together,” Drew said decisively, showing no fear.

Yvonne shook her head vehemently as he grabbed the hand she had pressed against his chest.

“If I leave now, even if I survive, I would have no value. I want to live with purpose. Drew, you wouldn’t understand.”

‘I wouldn’t understand? How could I not understand? I’m the one who understood her most in this world!’ Drew’s eyes blazed with determination.

His lips parted to speak just as the door was smashed open.

When two guards rushed in, Drew and Yvonne both turned to the door, raising their guns.
