The Divorced Heiress Revenge (Bella Thompson) novel Chapter 2013

As if struck by lightning, Yvonne’s breath turned heavy and labored. The growing flames outside the window burned intensely in her dark eyes.

She knew that Christopher had already started suspecting her, and it was only a matter of time before he got rid of her.

But that well-dressed beast in disguise wanted to use her to kill the man she loved most? Dream on!

“Yvonne, if I ask you to jump down from here with me, will you be afraid?” Drew held her thin waist firmly and smiled.

“I’m not afraid.” Yvonne slightly parted her lips, lipstick still smeared from their kiss. Her determined gaze met his bright eyes.

“Tsk. Can’t you let your man feel a little accomplished?” Drew raised his brows and pinched the soft flesh at her waist. “Can’t you be like other women, clinging to me and screaming how scared you are in the face of danger?”

“Actually, I am afraid.” Yvonne stared deeply at him, full of longing. “But as long as you’re here, I’m not afraid of anything.”

Drew’s originally frozen heart melted instantly, as if it was thrown into the sea of burning flames. He lowered his head and kissed Yvonne’s lips again, saying, “Let’s go!”

Then he tucked her soft body under his black trench coat and fired several shots at the glass window.

The room was already filled with smoke. They held their breaths and rushed toward the window with all their strength.

Crash!

Drew broke the glass using his back, holding Yvonne tightly as they jumped down from the fifth floor.

Flames roared into the sky before their eyes, and countless sharp shards of glass and burning embers rushed past them like a storm.

Yvonne’s heart stopped for a second, and she closed her eyes in fear.

In a daze, she heard Drew’s heavy breathing. A strong sense of uneasiness tore at her heart.

With a swoosh, a thin steel cable shot out from the man’s sleeve, piercing through the embers and anchored in the wall of a building.

Drew held Yvonne with one arm while using his left arm to control the cable, his legs pushing against the wall a few times.

They landed safely on the ground in a few seconds, but these few seconds were enough for Yvonne to remember for a lifetime.

They did not even have time to catch their breath and ran into the woods while supporting each other.

Suddenly, Yvonne stopped abruptly and shook off Drew’s hand while trembling.

The man turned around in shock. “Yvonne, you…”

“Sorry. I must stop here.” Yvonne’s eyes were red as she stepped back resolutely. “I’ll only become a burden if I go with you. Go now before they catch up! Also, don’t look for me anymore. This is the end for us!”

“You want me to give up on you? At this time?! Yvonne… Who do you think I am?!” Drew’s eyes were burning from his anxious emotions. He gritted his teeth and took a step forward, but it forced her to retreat several steps. “Even if you don’t leave with me, do you think you can still return to Christopher?! He wants you to die with me. Can’t you see that?!”

“Yes, Christopher wants us to die together, but you’re still alive, aren’t you?” Yvonne smiled emotionlessly, looking cold-blooded, but it only pained her heart.

“I can live as long as you’re alive. But if I go with you, Christopher will never let you go, and we will never have peace. Drew, I still have more important things to do. I don’t deserve you, nor am I willing to become a woman lost in love. But I’ll remember the romance you gave me forever.”

She ran toward the sea of flames.
