The Divorced Heiress Revenge (Bella Thompson) novel Chapter 2055

“Mila?! What are you doing here?” Alvin’s heart sank, and his expression changed instantly.

Despite their past conflicts, including Mila slapping him in a moment of anger, he found himself stirred by a deep, primal attraction. His gaze fixated on her refined, elegant face.

“You must be swamped with everything going on and haven’t had time to attend to Dad,” Mila said, placing the bowl down and gently wiping Austin’s mouth without even glancing at Alvin.

“Even though I’m married now and you’ve been so unwelcoming, I’m still a heiress of the Larson family. It would be inhumane not to return at a time like this.”

Alvin furrowed his brows, filled with suspicion.

“Mila... Thank you for coming to see me...” Austin’s eyes were misty with tears as he clutched his daughter’s hand tightly, as if passing on an important responsibility. “I’ve been too harsh on you in the past. I let stubbornness create misunderstandings between us for so many years...”

“I’ve long forgiven you, Dad,” Mila replied with a gentle smile, softly reassuring him. “Blood is thicker than water. You will always be my father, and we will always be a family.”

To Alvin, her words were like a stab in the heart. In the end, Mila was the only blood relative Austin had. At such a critical moment, their reconciliation made him seem like an outsider.

Austin’s voice was warm but tired. “Mila, you’ve had a long day. You should go home and rest. I need to speak with your brother.”

Mila obediently stood up. As she passed Alvin, she cast a cold, piercing glance at him that was both startling and ominous.

Once the door closed, the previous warmth dissipated, leaving only tension in the room.
