The Divorced Heiress Revenge (Bella Thompson) novel Chapter 2106

For those who did not know Christopher, it would be impossible to associate him with words as extreme as ‘viper’, ‘beast’ or ‘demon’.

Bella slowly stepped to his bedside, her eyes cold and scrutinizing as she observed him.

“Bella, I’m sick…” Christopher’s reddened eyes betrayed his vulnerability. He could not hold it in any longer and reached out to grab her hand.

Bella did not give him the chance. She immediately stepped out of reach and frowned at him.

“What a shame.” She curled her lips into a mocking smile. “You are only sick, not dead.”

After a pause, Christopher leaned back against the headboard, his gaze tender and lingering.

“Bella, I won’t die so easily. If I were to die, I would never be able to see you again.”

Bella let out a cold laugh, her fist clenched tightly.

“I went through hell and back just to return from Sentania and see you. All these years, the only thing keeping me alive was you. So, for you, I must live a long life.”

Bella stared at him with contempt.

“If you truly cared about me, you would listen to me. Lay down your weapons and surrender immediately.”

Christopher’s smile remained unshaken.

“From the beginning, it was never about me. It was always about you. The only reason you crawled out of the gutter and rose to your current position was because of your incessant greed that can never be satisfied.” Bella’s words sliced through the facade he wore.

“Mr. Iverson!” Taylor rushed into the room, his voice full of concern. “Are you and Ms. Thompson all right?”

“Why was Bella here?” Christopher’s tone was cold. The tender warmth he had shown to Bella was gone, replaced by a chilled detachment.

“I just checked. Old Master Nigel’s health took a turn, and Ms. Thompson came with him to the hospital. Don’t worry, we’ve made sure the attending physician won’t say a word. There’s no way anyone will leak anything!” Taylor assured him.

“Good.” Christopher relaxed, closing his eyes. He rubbed the tips of his fingers together, savoring the lingering sensation of her touch, reluctant to let go of the warmth she brought him.

“Mr. Iverson, there’s one more thing.” Taylor lowered his voice. “Deputy Chief Hopkins has been staying in his office, so we haven’t had any opportunity to move against him. What do you suggest we do?”

“Find a way to lure him out.” Christopher chuckled. “After all, who knows his weaknesses better than we do?”
