The Divorced Heiress Revenge (Bella Thompson) novel Chapter 2154

Taylor stared at the corpse lying in a pool of blood, his body drenched in cold sweat. “You’ve only been back a few days, and someone’s already tried to take your life. What’s going to happen from here?”

“Don’t worry,” Christopher replied confidently. “Before I die, I’ll drag all these restless, ambitious fools down to hell with me.”

As the words left his lips, it struck him that he had unconsciously assumed that his final resting place would be “hell”. With his hands stained in blood, so full of sin, was he truly destined for hell?

In the silence, Christopher’s phone rang. He turned his back to Taylor and his subordinates, bringing the phone to his ear. “Speak.”

“Mr. Iverson, the situation back home is very unfavorable for you.” An informant spoke in a clipped tone.

“It’s already come to this. How much worse can it get? Just tell me,” Christopher croaked as he coughed into his fist.

“The prosecution has searched the entire Iverson Group. Jeffrey and the head of the finance department have been taken in for questioning. They were never really loyal to you; they were all only driven by self-interest. Now that they see you’re in decline, it won’t be long before they spill everything they know.”

“You said it yourself already. They aren’t loyal, just figureheads. They’ve never had access to the core of Iverson Group, so they won’t be able to reveal anything significant.” Christopher’s coughing grew worse.

Taylor stepped forward and handed him a handkerchief. As Christopher took it, his entire body was wracked with violent tremors. Once the fit subsided, he returned the handkerchief to Taylor.

Taylor’s pupils contracted sharply when he saw a dark red blood stain marring the fabric. His heart pounded wildly. He stuffed the handkerchief into his pocket and forced himself to stay composed.

“There’s one more thing,” the informant continued. “You’re now wanted nationwide by the Savrow police.”

“What did you say?” Christopher could taste iron and bile on his tongue.

“You’ve been with me for a long time; I won’t let you go just like that. I’ll have Taylor deposit a sum of money into your mother’s account—enough for you to live out the rest of your life.”

Just as Christopher was about to hang up, the informant spoke up again. “Mr. Iverson! The world says you’re a ruthless, unforgivable man who killed his brother and father. Even Ms. Thompson has turned against you. But I know you’re not really that bad. Even if your methods are harsh, anyone who knows what you’ve been through would understand why you’ve done what you did!”

“You’re wrong!” Christopher chuckled bitterly. “I am exactly that—a ruthless, self-serving villain who killed his brother and father, a rat from the gutter, a venomous snake lurking in the dark corners. I’ve always walked this path alone. I never sought anyone’s understanding, nor do I need it. Goodbye.”

With that, he ended the call and turned off his phone.

“Mr. Iverson, the current President of Sentania, is Ms. Thompson’s brother-in-law. If they work with the Sentania government to issue a warrant for your arrest, your situation will be very precarious! You must remember how close we came to killing Edward before. He’s been holding a grudge ever since, waiting for the right moment to exact his revenge. Now that you’re in a vulnerable position, the President and his wife will likely seize this opportunity to settle the score.”

Taylor looked at the man before him, his body weakened by illness yet still standing tall. “Perhaps... it would be wise for you to leave Sentania as soon as possible.”
