Justin’s eyes widened slightly, and he asked in a low voice, “How did you know?”
“Dr. Amaryllis is not only an exceptional surgeon, but during her time in Meridan, she also studied psychiatric disorders and related medications,” Grant said calmly as he sipped his tea. “I once heard Dr. Larson mention that the reason your brain was damaged was because you took an unknown drug from Christopher. Since Dr. Amaryllis can pinpoint your issue, she may have a way to treat it. Why not let her try? It could at least alleviate some of the symptoms.”
Justin’s face remained expressionless as he declined, though his tone was still polite. “Thanks, Grant, but that won’t be necessary.”
“If Dr. Amaryllis has the capability, then it’s settled.” Gregory’s expression brightened as he spoke. “Dr. Amaryllis, I am officially appointing you as Justin’s personal doctor! Don’t worry about the salary; as long as Justin gets better, the amount is not an issue!”
Justin immediately expressed his reluctance and said, “Dad, I really don’t need a personal doctor. Besides, Grant relies on Dr. Amaryllis’ care, and she can’t be in two places at the same time.”
“Justin, we’re brothers. There’s no need to be so formal,” Grant said with a light smile.
He continued, “With Dr. Amaryllis’s care, my health has improved greatly. If you’re uncomfortable with her being around all the time, at the very least, let her assist in your recovery. Her daily care will help ease your condition to some extent. Considering your position and with the weight of Salvador Corporation’s future on your shoulders, any mistakes would undoubtedly disappoint both Grandpa and Dad.”
That final remark struck a chord with Justin. He blinked as he contemplated the words, then finally agreed. “Very well, let's move forward with the arrangements. Thank you, big brother, for your concern.”
Grant’s smile deepened with an elegant touch. “It’s my responsibility.”
Clarice stepped forward gracefully, her smile poised as she extended her right hand to Justin, who remained cold and emotionless. “Mr. Salvador, I look forward to working with you in the future.”
Justin felt his eyebrows furrow as he hesitated to shake her hand.
Clarice’s hand awkwardly lingered in midair, her forced smile nearly faltering.
Out of respect for his brother, Justin reluctantly extended his large left hand to shake hers.
…
The late hour had brought a tranquil stillness to the Tideview Manor.
In a dimly lit room, Grant sat on a sofa in a dark blue robe, his lashes lowered as he skimmed through a tender document resting on his lap. His sharp, refined profile, framed by elegant silver-rimmed glasses, exuded a subtle but powerful allure.
