Although Yvonne had accompanied Christopher on several trips to Meridan to visit the “Boss”, she had never seen his face.
However , by chance, she had once faintly overheard his voice. It was a memorable voice—distinct and resonant. Even though it had only brushed past her ears like a feather, it had left a deep impression.
“Miss... You’re gripping my hand too tight,” The little boy whispered to Yvonne.
Yvonne snapped out of her thoughts and quickly led the child away from the man.
“It’s this woman again,” Clarice sneered with disdain. “She’s always acting so strangely, like I’ve offended her somehow."
Grant narrowed his eyes slightly, glancing in the direction where Yvonne had disappeared. “You’ve met her before?"
Clarice scoffed. “I saw her once when I was here with Justin. He actually talked to arandom woman. That’s pretty unusual for him. I wonder if taking those pills triggered his scumbag tendencies to flare up."
“Oh? What did Justin say to her?"
“He asked if they had met somewhere before."
Grant fell into a pensive silence, his gaze turning thoughtful. “Look into that woman’s background."
Clarice frowned in confusion. “She’s just a regular caregiver. Is that really necessary?"
“No one knows my brother better than I do,” Grant replied , his voice low and firm. “There are very few women in this world who could make him take the initiative to speak."
As night fell, Justin hurriedly left the charity gala before the auction even began. His expression was gloomy as he drove aimlessly through the night.
He did not know how much time had passed before he abruptly slammed on the brakes. After a moment of hesitation, he pulled out his phone and dialed a number.

I am reading this book from last year. Its very long story but at start i find enjoyable.Still there is no closure , dragging the story and the writer is running out of ideas. Its frustrating that they don't upload chapters regularly....
If you are about to start reading this “ongoing” book….don’t. It’s a great read but mo regular updates and leaves you hanging. Took me months to get to chapter 2370 (this app only has it to chapter 2368….learned to search different links to read ahead a bit). These ongoing books are just not worth the time since their author (s) take days/weeks to upload new chapters. Again great sultry, long drawn out at times, but not worth the frustration of no new updates....
No update in 6 days!!! Really??? I’m about over this story and ready to move on, the wait is to long....
Pls update regularly or least let us know why it's taking so long...
Ok I was thinking last night. I really hope the author hasn’t been affected by hurricane Helene. Not sure where they are located but I hope everyone is safe...
