It was 7:28 in the morning now, and Ranita wasn't at home. Where could she be?
"Where are you?" Brendon asked again.
Ranita lost track of time and replied nasally, "Something came up last night so I stayed at a hotel."
A hotel?
Brendon didn't want to speculate, but many thoughts flooded his mind. He asked, "Why did you suddenly stay in a hotel?"
Ranita didn't want to say. "Something came up." She paused before changing the subject, "I'm going back home now to pack my things for the airport. We can fly together if I make it in time. If not, you can fly first."
After hanging up, Ranita looked over only to see Mia fall off the bed while holding on to a blanket.
Brendon also heard this commotion. "What's going on over there?"
"Nothing, I hung up!" Ranita hung up too quickly, and Brendon could only guess that there were other people in her room.
Was this other person the "brother" she mentioned yesterday? Brendon frowned at his phone in thought.
"Mr. Stuart, Miss Bowman ..." Caleb asked nervously. "Would you like to go to Qaesburg first?"
Brendon checked his watch. "Change my flight."
Ranita helped Mia up and patted her face. "Mia, wake up! Wake up!"
Mia looked a bit confused as she looked at Ranita for a while before remembering something and her face turned pale. "I'm sorry, I drank too much last night."
"I didn't mean to trouble you." This was their first conversation after their argument and it was awkward between them.
Ranita nodded lightly. "You're sober now so I'll leave first."
