The Divorcee Who Shines novel Chapter 78

Chapter 78 Call Her Name

"Take a closer look!" Ranita gritted her teeth and lowered her voice, coaxing him. "Or maybe you can send me your location."

"What's a location?" Brendon asked.

Ranita bit her cheek in frustration. "Do you even know what you're holding in your hand?"

"What am I holding?" Brendon asked innocently.

Great, Ranita thought. Let Brendon deal with his own mess. She was his ex-wife, so why should she care so much?

Ranita guessed that he probably wasn't in any danger. In that case, let him get drunk. Just as she was about to hang up the phone, Brendon spoke again, "Ranita, you're such a bad woman. Why won't you let me take you to the hospital?"

"Do you dislike me? How many women would love for me to have this opportunity? You really are a bad woman!"

Ranita was at a loss for words. He was clearly drunk. She hoped that when Brendon woke up, he'd remember what he said.

"Do you like Dylan or Steve? You should like Dylan since you both slept together! You're so bad for stringing along my friend while sleeping with Dylan..."

Ranita couldn't stand it any longer. "Brendon, shut up already! I never slept with Dylan!"

After yelling at him, Ranita felt relieved, but Brendon sounded extremely aggrieved on the other end of the phone. "See? Now you're getting mad at me too! You weren't like this before!"

Back when they were married and she had feelings for him hidden away in her heart, she cared about everything concerning Brendon. But now, they were divorced, and there was no relationship between them anymore. Why was she so foolish?

"Brendon..."

"Ranita, there are so many stars outside," Brendon started rambling again. But there were hardly any stars visible in the Kurima night sky. Ranita realized he must have been looking at streetlights. She asked with concern, "Are you still in the office?"
