The Double or more Life of the Fake Heiress (Mirabella) novel Chapter 1685

Cassie looked up, a bit taken aback that David knew his sister too. With a friendly nod, he said, "Mirabella's my sister."

David gave Cassie another once-over, a light of recognition in his eyes. "Ah, that makes sense. You two do look quite alike."

Apart from the eyes, the arch of their brows, and the shape of their noses, even their vibe was strikingly similar, like they were cut from the same cloth.

Cassie had often heard people say he resembled his sister, but the truth was, he was just an orphan with no real family. Nellie had found him and taken him in.

That’s why he felt like he didn't have any special talents, always considering himself the least remarkable in the family.

Cassie chuckled, deciding not to correct David. Instead, he asked out of curiosity, "So, how do you know my sister, sir?"

"Your sister treated me once," David said, admiration in his eyes. "If it weren’t for Mirabella keeping me going, I’d probably be pushing up daisies by now."

Cassie blinked and replied honestly, "You’re pretty lucky then."

"Absolutely," David nodded. "She’s been a huge help to me."

Cassie mumbled under his breath, "Probably charged you a pretty penny too."

That money-loving sister of his.

David didn't quite catch what Cassie said. "What was that, son?"

"Nothing..." Cassie replied with an awkward grin, steering the conversation elsewhere.

By then, the plane had already taken off. It was on a special route, at least twice as fast as a regular flight, cutting their travel time by more than half.

What should've been a ten-hour journey was over in just five.

They touched down in Merrywoods right at the crack of dawn, around 4 AM.
