James threw a quick glance at Wyatt, "Not on the best terms, huh?"
"Exactly. I remember it was quite the scandal back then. But Murray's not bold enough to pick a fight with the Davis family; he's just not up to it," Wyatt replied, a hint of melancholy creeping into his voice.
With the future lady of the house coming from such a high-powered background, James's path to marriage seemed like a minefield.
James clasped his hands behind his back, his long fingers sharply defined. Finally, he turned his focus to the person in charge nearby, "What's Murray after today?"
Wyatt felt a jolt of anxiety when James brought this up. He had a hunch that James was about to do something rash, driven by emotion.
"It's NF01," the person in charge responded quickly, then hesitated before adding, "But Governor Carter's here for NF01 too, and they had a bit of a run-in at the meeting."
James narrowed his eyes, his voice steady and cool, "Give it to Carter."
Wyatt had that 'I knew this would happen' look on his face. The person in charge didn't dare question the boss's call. After all, a sale was a sale, so he nodded, "Alright, I'll go let the manager know."
The person in charge left promptly.
Mirabella raised an eyebrow at James, "Aren't you worried about stirring up trouble?"
"Not really," James shrugged it off.
"Reckless as always," Mirabella clicked her tongue, then glanced toward the live ammo training room, "I'll check on the kid."
"Alright."
Once Mirabella was in the training room, Wyatt rubbed his nose, "The Earl's place is probably going to blow up."
