The Educator novel Chapter 30

I nod in agreement and the nurses and doctors head to the farther corner of the room to talk. There is a knock on the door and a medical technician walks in. He greets me and proceed to the farther corner of the room where everyone was. The medical technician carries a luggage-like bag and starts pulling out apparatuses. Elliot leans to me, “Hey, what do you want for lunch or uhm dinner?” he asks me. I slowly stand up and Elliot helps me up.

“Your mom is excited for you and me to consummate this marriage” I tease Elliot.

“We’re working on that.” Elliot smiles at me

“So, what did the police say?” I ask

Elliot lets out a breath, “Well, speaking of that, we would need to get home sooner. I am not confident that we stay here any longer. We’ll fly out maybe on Thursday instead of Sunday. I’ll just give you time to regain your strength before we fly back home.”

My face fell. I thought we would be spending more time together. When we leave to go back home, we will not be seeing much of each other. Elliot will be busy with the business and school and I will be busy with school.

“Elliot, I don’t want to go home just yet. I like it here. I like spending time with you. I just---” I trail off.

Elliot cups my face in his hands, “I’m sorry to have to cut the trip short but we need to go”

“What happened with the police that made you decide to leave?” I ask him

He sighs heavily, “I’m just taking extra precautions” he tells me, “I just don’t want you to get worried or paranoid”

I look at him, “I promise I don’t be. Let’s just stay until the end of the week, please?”

“No, not from what I remember” I tell them

“Where them people who you talked to as your stay at the hotel went on?” she asked.

I shake my head, “No, no one except the people at the front desk and at the hotel’s room service”

“Are there people in particular who you feel like would try to invade your hotel suite? Someone whom you’ve gotten into a fight before, a person who is in debt to you or vice versa?”

I shake my head, “No” She continues to write on her pad and shifts her position to her partner.
