Kylie picked up her pace and opened the door before storming inside.
She stared at the elegant man in front of her with a mix of emotions, but she mainly felt surprised.
"What are you doing here? Have you settled the issue already? Will you be staying in Seaville and continuing your acting career here?"
It looked like Samuel wasn't that cold and heartless after all.
Owen didn't expect for Kylie to come back to the sanctuary. Naturally, he was stunned.
Once he snapped out of it, he smiled.
Not wanting Kylie to worry about him, he said, "I'm almost done settling the issue, but I've put my acting career on hold for now. I'm going to give myself some time off and relax."
"Are you going to stay at the sanctuary?" Kylie asked.
"Mm-hm." Owen calmly nodded.
In truth, he'd returned because he needed to get a condition treated, but he didn't want Kylie to know about it because of her connection to Samuel.
Kylie let out a sigh of relief and didn't think anything of what he'd said. After that, she stayed in the sanctuary for almost an hour before she left to gather herbs.
It had been drizzling in the mountain over the past two days, and it made for slippery mountain paths. Because of this, Owen didn't like the idea of Kylie venturing into the mountain all by herself.
"I'll go with you," he said.
"That won't be necessary." Kylie instinctively turned down his offer.
At the back of her mind, all she could think of was what Samuel had said about making sure the person he didn't like would never show up again.
It wasn't easy for Owen to have come back again, and Kylie wouldn't be able to forgive herself if something terrible happened to him again because of her.
"I grew up in the mountains. Nothing's going to happen to me. You, on the other hand, have grown much skinnier. You should just grab some shut-eye." Kylie smiled.
She then picked up the basket next to her and waved to Owen as she walked out. "See you in a bit!"
After Kylie left, Allan inquisitively looked at Owen. "Why didn't you tell her about your condition?"
"Her plate is full with the Vances. There's no need to distract her with my problem," Owen responded.
