The strange sensation in his body intensified, and Samuel cursed under his breath, "Liam, did you hit your head somewhere? What the hell were you thinking by ordering this?"
Liam shrugged. "Hey, I was just trying to help you out."
"Bullshit!" Sebastian kicked Liam straight in the shin. "It makes sense for Samuel since he has a wife, but what the hell was your excuse for giving me that crap?" Then, he turned his glare on Harry. "You're a regular here. You knew this stuff was spiked and didn't think to give us a heads up?"
Harry lazily leaned back. "Drinking together sets the mood. Besides, you're a doctor. Don't tell me you can't handle a little something in your drink."
Sebastian was fuming. "Screw your mood."
What kind of nonsense was this?
Samuel glanced sideways at Sebastian, who just shrugged. "Don't look at me. At least you've got someone at home. I'm stuck with a cold shower. Unless… you wanna take one together?"
"Get lost, quack."
Sebastian watched Samuel's retreating figure and clicked his tongue. "Man, having a wife really makes a difference."
Samuel had only drunk half the glass. The effect wasn't overwhelming, but it was noticeable.
Still, he could handle it.
...
Yvonne had had too much to drink and was standing outside Zouk Lounge. She was letting the night air sober her up while she waited for a ride.
When she spotted Samuel, her eyes lit up. "Samuel! I didn't expect you and Iris to come pick me up. She must have really twisted your arm."
She reached for the car door, ready to climb into the Bentley.
"Stay still." Samuel's voice was ice-cold. "I'm not here for you."
Just then, Iris walked over and asked, "Samuel? What are you doing here?"
