The Forgotten Titan's Resurgence novel Chapter 27

Chapter 27

Chapter 27

The Seymours all sported strange expressions. They didn’t know what to say about Matthew, who’d fled off quicker than anyone would’ve thought. What was he doing here now?

Matthew also felt awkward, but he tried to explain himself “You’ve misunderstood me, everyone. I only ran off to get help!”

“To get help?”

“Of course! How could I have possibly abandoned you guys? If not for the backups I found, Ella wouldn’t have been able to return unscathed.”

Gideon’s lips twitched. He couldn’t believe how shameless Matthew was. From the looks of it, Matthew was trying to twist things around.

However, Marion’s eyes lit up as she exclaimed, “It’s all thanks to you, then! Here we were thinking it was Gideon who saved Ella.”

Matthew was secretly pleased. He’d only made it up on a whim to see if he could get lucky. He didn’t expect to actually succeed.

Was it Gideon who saved Elara? Regardless of whether it was the case, Matthew was certainly going to take the credit for it.

He thought, “Oh, Gideon, who do you think you are? I can play you like a fiddle. I bet Elara and her mother would rather believe me more.”

With this in mind, he chuckled and said, “Mrs. Seymour, Mr. Snow here is indeed a capable man. Had this occurred during the Snow family’s prime, I’m sure it would’ve been easy for him to save Ella from Mr. Duran. However, considering the present situation, it would be pretty hard for him to do so.”

“I think so, too,” Marion said with a scoff. “You lied to us again, Gideon! How shameless of you to seize the credit from Matthew. You disgust me.”

Gideon was just about to speak when Elara ranted, “You’re always saying such nonsensical things, Gideon! I’m fed up with it. If you ever make such baseless brags again, I’ll kick you out of the house.”

Marion snapped, “Gideon, it’s despicable of you to try and take credit for what Matthew did! I’m ordering you to apologize to him now!”

“Apologize to him?” Gideon snorted. He glanced at Matthew and taunted, “I’d like to know what kind of help you managed to get. How did you or your wealthy family of no real significance manage to get someone like Nino Duran to show you courtesy?

“By the way, what happened to your face? Don’t tell me it was Nino’s men who hit you.”
