Chapter 228
Sam snatched Laura’s phone from her and immediately booted up her WhatsApp.
All the conversation records between Laura and Larry were there.
As their child had fallen sick, Larry had repeatedly contacted Laura, hoping she could provide some money for their child’s treatment. However, Laura repeatedl refused him, using the excuse that he had cheated on her.
And yet just an hour ago, Laura contacted Larry. She asked him to drive over and run Heather over with his truck.
Sam stared at the last message sent between them.
The message read, “As long as my sister dies, I’ll be able to marry Sam. At that point, I’ll have as much money as I want. Whether it’s our child’s illness or your parents‘ welfare, I’ll take care of all of it.”
“Do you have any conscience? Heather treats you so well!”
Heather was also reading the WhatsApp conversation over Sam’s shoulder. Feeling a chill from head to toe, she looked at her own sister with disbelief. Laura covered her face with her hand, hiding her expression. “Sam, now that the matter has been exposed, are you planning to push all the blame on me? “Weren’t you the one who said you were afraid that Heather would divorce you and ask for a portion of your wealth? Wasn’t that why you asked me to do it? No wonder you had me contact Larry instead. It’s because you wanted to shift the blame.
“Heather, even if I’m in the wrong, then his crime is even greater.”
Laura pointed at Sam.
Heather took one look at him and stepped back.
Sam burned with rage at Laura’s ability to twist truth and lies. “You… You…”
He subconsciously lowered his head to look at the phone. “I didn’t have a hand in it, miss. I really didn’t.”
“I know you didn’t. Open up this application on Laura’s phone.”
Madison told him the name of an application.
Sam immediately tapped on it.
It was a social media application. There were plenty of youths who faced heavy pressure at work, so many of them would turn to social media to make friends. When he tapped on Laura’s page, all the thoughts and emotions she had recorded appeared.
Laura’s account name was “Spend EthanityWithYou“.
Sam was immediately uncomfortable upon seeing the name. His surname was Ethans.
There weren’t many posts on Laura’s page, but almost every post had something to do with him. She would call him Sam in some posts, then Mr. Ethans in others. “I’m so mad. Sam drank a bit too much today and had to be sent home by someone. He started throwing a tantrum the moment he returned and even scattered my snacks and food all over the floor. He gave me a real fright, and I had to coax him to calm down in the end.
“I went to work with Mr. Ethans today. I’m going to ask Mr. Ethans to treat me to candy after collecting all the payments, hehe!
“I woke up in the middle of the night and noticed Sam returning by car. He even bought me supper–my favorite tacos! I feel sorry for Sam, who has to work from day to night and has many things to worry about. The tacos were delicious, though!
“Thank you, Mr. Ethans, for your love. Thank you for your blatant favoritism toward me. Thank you for giving me gifts.”
“Mr. Ethans isn’t sleeping at home today. I don’t know why, but I’m not used to it. I really want to give Mr. Ethans a call, but I’m afraid he’ll get angry. He’s always acting so high and mighty. If it weren’t for the fact that I feel sorry for him, I’d just ignore him.”
