Chapter 234
Early in the morning of the next day, the doorbell rang.
Jessica checked herself in the mirror. She deliberately applied makeup that made her seem restless and then inspected her reflection one last time.
“Restless but beautiful–perfect.”
She walked toward the front door, exhaled deeply, and put on a sorrowful expression before opening the door. Standing outside was Alex. Jessica asked with a blank expression, “Do you need something?”
Alex had no idea how he managed to leave the neighborhood and find clothing yesterday.

In any case, he now stood before Jessica, perfectly dressed. Seeing her restless face, he felt a glimpse of joy but maintained a sad facade as he asked, “Jessica, why do you look so terrible?”
Jessica glanced at him. “I didn’t sleep well.”
Her tone was cold and distant as she continued, “I’m sorry. I got too angry yesterday, and that’s why I kicked you out. This is your home. I’ll pack up and leave now.
“No! Jessica, you can’t go. What you said yesterday was right. If I want you to announce our relationship on your social media, I need you to do it boldly. Let those people see how great I am.
“Let’s go! I’ll take you to buy a house, a car, whatever you want. I’ll buy it all for you!”
Jessica tried to shake off his hand. “You’ve already bought all those for your ex- -girlfriends.”
Alex grabbed her hand tightly. “You’re different. You deserve the best.”
Jessica pretended to resist as Alex pulled her out. She turned back to look at Nadia, who was in the house, and raised her eyebrows smugly.
That morning, Jessica had Alex buy her two properties in Deatropolis–a spacious suite and a villa. She also had him buy a Maserati. Finally, he bought a couple of pieces of jewelry that amounted to a million dollars.
By the end of it, Alex’s expression had changed.
Jessica even dragged him to find a lawyer to draft up a contract.
When Alex seemed to be unwilling, Jessica gave him a puzzled look. “But my ex–boyfriends gave everything directly to me the last time! If you don’t want to sign it, then don’t! I trust you. You’re not the kind of man who gives gifts and then wants them back.”
Alex fell silent.
He really would still want to take them back.
Jessica said, “I’ve heard many stingy men are quite calculated. They keep track of every expense when dating.
“But the men I’ve encountered have all been generous. They’re wealthy and generous, and when they give something, they never think about taking it back, so they generally have lawyers draft contracts.”
Jessica held onto Alex’s hand. “But I believe you. You’re definitely not the type to give something and then want it back, right? You didn’t take back anything you gave your ex–girlfriends, did you?”
Alex trembled slightly. “No, of course not. How could I do something so lowly?”
“I knew you weren’t that kind of person. Someone once told me you’re extremely stingy and always take back the money you spend on your girlfriends, but I didn’t believe it. They must be talking nonsense.”
Alex said, “Of course, it’s nonsense. I’ll sign it. Let’s sign the contract now.‘
They both signed their names on all the contracts.
