Chapter 233
Nadia couldn’t argue back, but she was furious.
“How about this one? It faces south, has two balconies and two bedrooms, and the living room is small enough to keep clean. It’s a new apartment, but the inter is ugly. It’ll need to be renovated.
“There’s also this one. It’s wonderful but rather far from your aunt’s place. The community has plenty of greenery, but a school is directly across the street, sc might be busy,” Jessica continued.
As Nadia listened, she suddenly asked, “Why are you buying a house for my mom?”
Without looking up, Jessica replied, “Like you said, Alex hurt you in my name.”
Madison had already said that if Nadia’s anger wasn’t pacified, her future would be a disaster.
Those jerks! Couldn’t they have some decency?
She was already being forced into playing the role of a pawn, cleaning up their mess.
Bastards!
If she ever caught them, she would make them regret it!
Nadia, however, stayed silent.
In these few days, as she followed Jessica and Alex around, she finally understood everything clearly. Alex’s hurt and rejection of her had nothing to do with Jessic She was the one who was being foolish. She was the one who got manipulated without realizing it.
It was her own fault!
Suddenly, Jessica got excited and said, “This one, this one’s great! The layout is perfect, the community’s environment is good, and there’s a hospital, a park, an even a mall nearby. The best part is there’s a driving academy right next to it, so it’ll be convenient for her to leam to drive.
“The car shouldn’t be too expensive, and your mom shouldn’t use too much of her own money either. I’ll also set aside some money to send to her monthly in you
name.”
After she finished speaking, there was no response for a while.
Jessica turned her head and jumped in shock.
“What are you doing? I’m warning you, I have a talisman! You can’t hurt me.”
Across from her, bloody tears streamed down Nadia’s face, making her ghostly appearance even more terrifying. The lights in the room flickered ominously. Nadia’s furious cries filled the room.
Jessica moved back, clutching onto a pillow in fear. “If you don’t like it, just say so! Who are you trying to scare here? I’m warning you, Ms. Locke really did give me a talisman. And I keep it on me! If you dare to hurt me, don’t blame me for using it.”
Yells of rage could be heard.
Nadia’s cries grew even more intense, and the lights flickered again before going out completely.
Jessica screamed as she took cover behind the couch, cautiously peeking out at Nadia.
