Chapter 297

“Yeah! Harvey, you have no idea how many netizens have dug up what Maddie has done online. Not only did she scam people out of their money, but she also helped an infamous gold digger swindle money from a scion.”
Even William’s voice chimed in, “Harvey, this matter has had a huge impact. The company’s share price dropped today.
“And… Sebastian was in a car accident on his way to the party yesterday and is still in a coma. If the Hall family blames us for this…”
Harvey replied softly, “I’ll handle these matters. Maddie is injured. She needs to rest.”
“I asked the doctor when I arrived, and he said her injuries aren’t severe,” Tanya quickly interjected. “Harvey, this isn’t the time to pamper Maddie. It’s time to solve problems.”
Before Harvey could say anything else, the door opened, and Madison stood at the entrance. “Whatever problems need solving, come on in, and let’s talk.”
Harvey frowned and quickly walked inside. “Did we wake you? The doctor said you’re weak and need to rest more.”
Madison shook her head. “Harvey, I’m fine.”
Jason followed behind and said, “Glad to know you slept soundly while we were up all night without a wink of sleep.”
The commotion from the party yesterday had stirred up quite a storm, not only in Riverview’s elite circles but also online, where numerous videos and photos had been posted.
Many bloggers were exposing the Locke family’s private affairs, focusing especially on the real daughter and the imposter.
“It’s all because of you that so many people online know Becky is…” Jason’s heart ached as he thought about the people mocking Rebecca online.
Rebecca stood beside him, shaking her head. “Jason, I’m fine. I won’t take to heart what they say.”
Her display of strength despite feeling wronged made Jason feel even more sympathetic toward her.
“Don’t worry, I’ll protect you. You’ll always be the Locke family’s heiress. Anyone who thinks they can take that title by exposing your background is just delusional.”
Harvey snapped sharply, “Jason, if you’re not going to speak respectfully, you can leave.”
Jason huffed in response.
Rebecca tried to mediate the situation. “Harvey, Jason didn’t mean it.”
Harvey shot a cold glare at her. “And you, shut up.”
Rebecca was taken aback, and everyone looked at Harvey in shock.
Her eyes instantly reddened, tears shimmering in them as she looked at Harvey in disbelief. “Harvey… you… you told me to…”
“Yeah, I said it.”
“Harvey!” The usually silent Ethan stepped forward, standing in front of Rebecca. “Isn’t this a bit excessive? Becky is your sister.” “You think I’m being too much? I say one thing, and suddenly, it’s over the top. But you show up early in the morning, criticizing Maddie without a second thought, and that’s not too much?”
Ethan replied, “That’s because she did something wrong. If she made a mistake, shouldn’t we be allowed to say something?”
“Did Rebecca do anything wrong?” Harvey looked at Rebecca behind Ethan, asking, “Becky, do you think you did anything wrong?”
Rebecca bit her lip as tears streamed down her face. She looked completely innocent. “Harvey, I don’t know what made you angry. What did I do wrong that made you…”
“The livestream that went out later is one thing, but what about the earlier footage? Those videos, those photos… They were all sent out in real–time.” Harvey narrowed his eyes.
His head was wrapped in a bandage, and his face was pale, yet his display was still intimidating. “Who sent them out?”
Rebecca’s gaze flickered. “It wasn’t me.”
