Chapter 343
Jason scoffed and replied, “Who would watch that junk? At the end of the day, it’s just some stupid dancing and singing to con others out of their money, right? I heard that you’re doing something different now. You added a new thing, something about telling stories.
“Hah, you’ve found another way, huh? I bet you’ve conned many out of their money.”
“Even if you haven’t watched my livestreams, you should at least have seen me on the trending news,” replied Madison. Smiling, she continued, “In Riverview alone, I’ve received numerous Good Citizen Awards and a few badges.
“I managed to rescue kidnapped children who were almost sold with my livestreams. I’ve also helped find trapped professors. I’ve done so much good through streaming, and if you had paid any attention, you would know that.”
Jason parted his lips to speak, but Madison interrupted him, “Or are you saying that you know about all this but think it’s not important at all? The kidnapped victims who were almost sold aren’t important, and neither are the national–level professors.
“The good deeds that can alter another person’s fate aren’t important either, huh? All that matters is your precious sister. It’s fine if everyone else in the world gets hurt, but she must not be harmed. Everybody else’s happiness must be sacrificed for Rebecca. Is that what you’re saying?”
Jason immediately shook his head and demanded, “When have I ever said any of that?”
“But my livestreams have saved so many lives and changed so many fates, and still, you refuse to acknowledge they’re good. You even think that my livestreams are what caused the accident at the party.”
Madison’s voice was even and showed no change in pitch. It was as though she were a robot without emotion.
“Also, why can’t Rebecca be at fault? If she hadn’t entered the entertainment industry, she would never have needed to get an anonymous account. Without that account, the information would never have been leaked. If she never unlocked the door, criminals wouldn’t have been able to barge in or hurt me.”
After saying all that, Madison put on a small smile and looked right at Jason. She said, “Rebecca has been working as a celebrity for so many years. What does she have to show for it? What has she contributed to society? Why should I make sacrifices for someone who contributes nothing?”
Jason’s expression turned for the worse. His finger trembled a little as he pointed at Madison. However, he couldn’t refute her.
Tanya hugged the sobbing Rebecca and sighed. With a heavy heart, Tanya said, “Maddie, I’ve told you. Becky didn’t do it on purpose. How could she have known-

“So, this incident should be forgotten just because she didn’t do it on purpose?” interrupted Madison. “What if I were the one who had unlocked the door or if the person who was targeted was Rebecca? What would you say if the people holding the knives had been trying to hurt Rebecca?
“If, after everything had happened, I said that I didn’t do it on purpose, would everything be forgotten?”
Tanya couldn’t say another word.
Jason was scowling as well.
Exasperated, William sighed and murmured, “We’re a family. Why must everything be such a mess?”
Jason instinctively said, “Before she came back, our family was happy and in bliss. If we had known all this would happen, we shouldn’t have brought her back all those years ago.”
“Jason!” roared Harvey as he glared at Jason.
Jason realized that his words were a little too harsh as well. However, he couldn’t bring himself to let go of his ego. Hence, he softly murmured, “I’m not wrong, though. We didn’t have heated arguments back then.”
