Chapter 345
Serena nodded and replied, “I understand.”
She had just finished speaking when everyone heard a child sobbing outside.
The kid was lying on the ground, crying out, “Mommy… Mommy…”
She had a gash on her chest and was bleeding endlessly.
Her tiny hand was trembling weakly on the ground. Her eyes were filled with tears.
Seeing that, Serena was stunned for a moment.
Farlier, the perpetrator left after learning that he couldn’t knock the shutters down.
All that could be heard at that moment was a child’s sobs. The child was crying loudly, breaking the hearts of everyone inside the jewelry store.
“The perpetrator has left. Let’s get the kid in!”
“What a horrible person. That kid is so young, and still, that perpetrator was fine with attacking her. Fuck that!”
“Open the door. Us men will rush out and carry her over.”
“You can’t do that!” said Serena. She was pale, but she stood up and said, “I’m a doctor. It’s possible that her blood vessels are damaged. We must stop her bleeding first!”
Madison had a grim expression when she spoke to Serena. She warned, “You can’t leave now. You’ll only be safe if you stay in the jewelry store.” Serena mustered a smile and replied, “I’m a doctor, and there’s a life out there beckoning for me to save it. Plus, she’s just a kid!”
After saying all that, Serena turned to one of the store’s employees and asked, “Let me out so that I can treat the kid. Do you have a first aid kit here?” “Yeah, we have one right here.”
Someone brought a first aid kit to Serena.
Madison saw Serena holding the first aid kit and leaving the store, so she immediately turned to Harvey and ordered, “Harvey, stop the car here.”
Harvey stopped the car right away, and Madison positioned the phone properly. She closed her eyes, chanted a spell, and waved her hand. Soon after, a talisman appeared in her hand. Madison opened her eyes and waved her hand once more. The talisman disappeared after that.
Harvey saw the same talisman suddenly showing up in front of Serena.
“Ms. Wynn, if you insist on leaving the store, please take this talisman with you.”
Serena was slightly surprised when she saw the talisman appearing out of nowhere. However, she still took it and replied, “Okay, I got it.”
After saying that, she nodded to the jewelry store’s employee. The employee in question pushed the button and opened the shutters. There was only a small gap, and Serena squeezed through it to leave.
She wrapped the kid’s injuries up as quickly as she could. Serena was trained, so the kid was bandaged quickly. Serena turned her attention to the employee in the jewelry store immediately after and said, “Her wound has been treated. We can move the girl now.”
Everyone in the store sighed a breath of relief.
Suddenly, someone shrieked, “That lunatic is back! Let them back in quickly.”
Serena turned her head around. That was when she realized that the armed perpetrator was already making his way over.
He held his blade and stalked toward Serena one step at a time.
“Open the shutters quickly!”
