Meredith was awakened up by the cold. After being kidnapped, she was thrown to the ground.
It was so cold now, and the cold wind was blowing her clothes. The chill forced her to open her eyes painfully.
At first glance, it was a dilapidated and abandoned factory. The surrounding walls had already collapsed. The wind blew in from all directions, and there seemed to be some unpleasant smell of decay in the air.
Meredith couldn't stand the stimulating odor and could not help but hunch up and retch.
Hearing the sound of her movement, the guard who was eating and drinking came over. Seeing her wake up, he sneered, "Derek's woman is too delicate. Can't she stand it?"
Meredith had vomited for a while. She hadn't eaten anything today, and now she was just retching.
Hearing the sound, she looked up. She looked at the man, and then she saw Nova gloating at the side.
They were going to kidnap someone to threaten Derek?
Meredith soon realized her situation and forced herself to calm down.
"What are you looking at?" After yelling at Meredith, Nova looked at Mr. Long and said obsequiously, "Mr. Long, Derek's woman is here. May I leave now?"
"Leave? Do you think this is a hotel, which you can come and go as you please."
Mr. Long sneered, "Since you and Meredith are here, let's see whom will be chosen by Derek later."
Finishing his words, he tied Nova up and threw her with Meredith.
Meredith now realized that it was Nova who was caught first and in order to save herself, she immediately ratted her out.
"Mr. Long, how can you not keep your word! Let me out!"
"That's right. She's Derek's woman. Don't let her go." Meredith calmed down. When she heard Nova's screams, she was not polite at all and dragged her in.
Nova glared at Meredith fiercely, but her mouth was blocked and she could not speak a single word.
The man called Mr. Long thought highly of Meredith when he saw that she didn't shout or swear and kept her sanity, "Why, aren't you afraid?"
Afraid? Of course, Meredith was afraid. However, in this situation, except for increasing panic, fear didn't make any sense.
"Of course I'm afraid, but what I want to say is that she lied to you."
Meredith said calmly, "It is not Derek's child at all. It's no use kidnapping me."
"You think I'll believe you by a few words?"
"If you don't believe me, you can go and find out who I am. My name is Meredith. When Derek was in a car accident, it was I who knocked him down. He hates me so much. How can he come to save me?"
"As for why she ratted on me, the only possible answer is that she and I had a small grudge in the past, so she wanted to rely on you to deal with me."
Mr. Long hesitated for a moment and asked a person to check what Meredith had said.
That was a big deal. After all, it involved a big guy--Derek. So the information was still easy to find and check.
"Damn it, it's true."
Soon, Mr. Long found out the truth and saw Meredith's photos.
"So, what's the use of catching me? Derek might have come to save Nova for her sake, but when he sees me, his enemy, will he still come? Do you think he will be so kind?"
