The Good Girl's Revenge novel Chapter 162

Derek avoided Meredith's gaze. "You don't have to worry about these things."

Meredith immediately understood that her guess was right. It was the Xaviers that was pressuring Derek. Suddenly, she felt a little tired.

"Am I...that bad?"

If Derek weren't with her, but with Chloe, or any girl from a distinguished family, the Xaviers wouldn't have come here and questioned him angrily.

"Don't think too much. I'll take care of these things."

Derek stroked Meredith's hair. Now, the quickest solution was to clear Meredith's name. The rest could be solved in the future.

Meredith was not in a good mood, so Derek sent her home. "Have a good rest."

Meredith smiled. It seemed that it was great if one's immediate superior was the big boss. At least, it gave her a lot of convenience in asking for leave and skipping work.

"OK. See you tomorrow." Meredith got out of the car, waved at Derek and watched the man leave before she slowly went upstairs.

Just as she reached the door and was about to take out the key to open the door, a cold female voice rang in her ear. "Meredith, you are finally back."

Violet stood at the door of the apartment that Meredith rented. Her well-preserved face was cold.

Meredith's heart skipped a beat when she saw the woman. When she saw her expression and heard her tone, she understood that the woman didn't come here to bond with her. However, the woman was Derek's mother, so Meredith could only pretend as if nothing had happened and greeted her.

"Hello, auntie."

They were just two meaningless words but they ignited Violet's anger.

Violet couldn't help but think to herself. Did this woman know she had caused a tempest? She had opened her eyes in the morning to see the picture of her proud son and a female prisoner, a woman she had always looked down on. At that moment, she wanted to tear Meredith apart.

Meredith, on the other hand, just greeted her as if the tempest didn't exist. Did she really think she was the young madam of the Xaviers now?

"Meredith, the last time we met, I have told you everything that needs to be talked about. I think you know exactly about your status. But you still seduced Derek this time. Are you completely shameless now?"

If it wasn't for the Xaviers's efforts to cool down the situation, the rumors would have spread all over the city, and if someone used Meredith's identity to stir up trouble, it would only have destroyed Derek's reputation.

Meredith was stunned for a moment. She never expected Violet to think so badly of her, as if she had known nothing but try to seduce men.

"Auntie, I don't know what I've done made you so angry but I want to say that I didn't do that back then. I'm already working hard to investigate the case, and there will be results soon..."

"I don't want to hear your results." Violet thought Meredith was just making an excuse. She glanced at Meredith disdainfully. "Is this the kind of lie you used to deceive Derek? I didn't expect you to have this ability."

Meredith was speechless. She had taken the rap for Ava for no reason. How could this be her fault?
