"Mind your own business!" The man roared when he was interrupted.
He opened the door angrily and wanted to kick the man out, but when he saw Derek, he retreated. Though he didn't know Derek but he could feel the strong aura from his gaze.
He thought about it and decided that it wasn't worth it to offend a potential big shot for a waiter. He looked back at the girl who was huddled in the toilet and said, "It's your lucky day."
Derek watched the man leave. He laughed himself for being officious. When did he become such a kind and warm-hearted person?
"It's all right. Come out."
Derek was about to leave when the girl in the toilet reached out and grabbed his pants. "Sir, I'm scared. Can you ... take me out with you?"
Her voice was trembling. It was obvious that she was extremely frightened, so Derek paused.
Perhaps, because he had drunk too much, he actually felt that her voice was very much like Meredith's. He did not refuse.
The girl took his silence as yes. She quickly walked out and was stunned when she looked up at Derek. Back then, she was so scared that she didn't dare to look at her life saver. But now, one gaze and she was captivated by him.
She could tell the man came from Asia just like her from his face, but he was as tall as the foreigners. His shirt was unbuttoned, mysteriously hot. That's the prince charming every girl would fall in love with.
"What are you doing?" Derek was a little impatient when he saw that she was in a daze. He had somewhat regretted saving her.
"No... Nothing..." Seeing that Derek was unhappy, Freya stopped staring at him but followed along. "Sir, my name is Freya. You saved me. I ... really don't know how to thank you."
Her voice amazed Derek. It sounded just like Meredith's. He thought for a moment and took out the keys from his pocket. "I'm drunk. I can't drive myself home. Can you drive?"
Freya nodded and took the keys excitedly. She had been working at this luxurious hotel for some time, so she knew that the keys must belong to a supercar.
She followed Derek carefully with excitement, helped him into the car, and then drove towards the place he said.
...
At the hotel lobby.
"Miss, we're closing up."
It was almost twelve o'clock, the waiter from the hotel coffee shop came over and took a look at Meredith.
"Oh... I see."
Meredith was in a daze, but she cleared her mind after hearing the words. She took out her cell phone and then realized that it was almost midnight...
There were no missed calls nor messages. Derek didn't call back, nor did he reply.
Meredith was disappointed. What was Derek doing? Was he too busy to reply to her?
Thinking about it, Meredith was a little distracted again.
