"Easton, what do you want to eat? I'll get it for you. You're young. It's not good for your health if you don't eat at night."
Caroline looked at Easton in a very natural and amiable way. She acted as an elder and looked at Easton with concern.
She knew this little bastard didn't like her. He always looked at her coldly and treated her badly. If it wasn't for Derek's sake, she wouldn't have been bothered to talk to this little beast.
But now that so many people were watching, she knew that she still had to pretend to care more about this little thing. Caroline even had figured out how she would react if Easton lost his temper in public.
But...
Easton looked at Caroline and shook his head. His voice was very calm and he looked at her seriously, "Thank you, but no need. Dad told me not to eat anything that a stranger gives me."
Caroline's smile froze immediately.
The guests around looked at each other in confusion. What did Little Young Master mean? Did he mean that Caroline was just a stranger?
When they saw Violet introduce Caroline so seriously, they thought...
Caroline really wanted to strangle the little bastard. But she still tried to suppress the anger in her heart, and she forced out a smile, "Children like to joke. It's okay."
Easton pouted, "I don't like to joke. Auntie Caroline, grandpa said that you're only staying at our house for the time being. When will you move out?"
Such straightforward words quieted down the whole place.
Caroline felt so awkward. She only felt embarrassed when she saw people around looking at her. She gripped her palms tightly. The stinging pain prevented her from losing her mind in anger.
"Easton, do you really want me to leave?" She almost squeezed these words out of her gritted teeth.
Easton nodded, "Yes, because my dad said my mom will come soon."
As soon as he said this, Caroline's expression became sullen. The guests around them were in an uproar and there were clamours of comments.
On the outskirts of the crowd, Meredith stopped and felt helpless. She took a deep breath, turned and quickly left the place.
She came because she heard Easton's voice, but as soon as she came, she heard her son's heroic words. What could she do? Naturally, she couldn't bear to scold her son, so she had to run away.
Caroline inadvertently looked up and saw Meredith leaving. She narrowed her eyes and a cold light of ruthlessness flashed across her eyes. Without saying a word, she stood up and left.
Easton naturally ignored her and let her go.
"Miss Mason?"
Caroline quickly caught up with Meredith and stopped Meredith.
Meredith turned around and was taken aback when she saw Caroline. Then, Meredith nodded calmly, "Miss Baker, what a coincidence."
Caroline smiled gently, "It's a coincidence, Miss Mason. I need your help with something. Can you help me?"
Meredith was a little surprised, "What is it?"
Caroline's smile remained the same, "Miss Mason will know when you come with me." After that, she turned around and left first.
Meredith couldn't help but frown and thought for a moment before following Caroline.
To her surprise, Caroline walked straight through the guests and brought her to the main hall of the Xaviers. Meredith couldn't help but stop.
