When Derek saw the harmonious scene of the mother and son, he was much less worried.
Then, he continued to wait for more information.
After about half an hour, his subordinate finally called, saying that he had found a reliable person to confirm that the information was correct.
In other words, Evelyn's blood type did not match Amelia and Wesley's...
Even Derek found the result inconceivable after he had done so much investigation.
Meredith was in the room and heard Derek's phone ring. When she came out and saw his expression, she understood everything.
Seeing her expression, Easton couldn't help but clench Meredith's hand.
Meredith forced a smile. "It doesn't matter. It might be something wrong. If not, let's keep looking for other suitable bone marrow donors."
"I know. I'll get more people to look for it. As for the issue of the Smiths, we'll talk about it after the surgery."
Meredith nodded. Now, she was too tired to think about the Smiths.
"I'm a little tired. I want to take a rest."
Meredith returned to her room. She didn't want to show any negative emotions in front of Easton. She just wanted to calm down first.
Derek wanted to stay with her, but after a while, he received a call from the company.
There were some things he needed to go back and deal with.
"Dad, you should go back and do your own things first. I'll accompany mom."
Easton said thoughtfully.
Derek stroked the little guy's head. "Thank you. If anything happens, call me."
Easton nodded and entered the room.
By this time, Meredith had calmed down a lot and tried to stop herself from thinking.
"Easton, you don't have to worry about me. I am fine."
"Yes, I know."
Easton stopped fussing and just stayed quiet with Meredith.
The mother and son were lying on the bed. After a while, Easton fell asleep.
Meredith looked at her innocent sleeping son and took out a blanket to cover him.
After all these things, what she wanted most was to protect her Easton. There was no way that she would let her child encounter the same experience as herself.
And just as Meredith gazed at Easton, lost in thought, her phone suddenly rang.
Afraid of waking Easton up, Meredith walked out of the room immediately. When she saw her phone, she widened her eyes in disbelief.
The call was from Parker.
He actually contacted her.
Meredith had not seen Parker for a long time, so she answered his call immediately.
"Hello, is that Parker?"
"It's me."
Parker heard the familiar voice and couldn't believe his ears.
For days and nights, he thought he had forgotten what Meredith's voice sounded like, but now that he heard it, he realized that he had never forgotten it, but buried it deep in his heart.
However, although he was very excited, Parker was still very calm.
He didn't want to act so out of line.
"Where are you now? Have you been doing well all these years?"
Meredith didn't know what to say. After all, the last time she saw Parker was five years ago, and she knew nothing about his current situation.
So she could only make such a general greeting.
