The Good Girl's Revenge novel Chapter 577

Derek stayed late at the company. He didn't leave until the employees were almost off work.

When something upset him, he was used to indulging in his work, which would give him a sense of being in control.

As soon as Derek went downstairs, Evelyn, who had been waiting for him below, stood up and hurried over, in fear that she couldn't catch up with him.

"Mr. Xavier, didn't you say that you went out for a meeting? It doesn't seem to be the case now."

It was impossible for Evelyn to have no grudge.

Everyone in the Capital City feared the clout of the Smith family, so that it seemed impossible to have someone keep her waiting for almost a day.

But Evelyn held back her grudge and waited.

She wanted to see how Derek would explain.

"Oh? Really? Maybe some employees made a mistake."

Derek opened his mouth without a blush. The receptionist at the side turned pale, but she didn't dare to say anything.

One was a rich girl who didn't look easy to mess with, the other was her boss, and none of them could be offended by an unimportant figure like her.

How could Evelyn not know that he was offhand with her? Peering at the panicked receptionist, she said, "Does that mean you need to do something to her?"

"I'll find someone more suitable."

Derek looked at the ashen-faced receptionist and called for the secretary. The two of them whispered a few words.

"Transfer her a logistics position and double her salary."

Derek lowered his voice. He had no habit of letting others take the blame for him. The receptionist was unlucky. He would give her a raise in salary as compensation.

"Is that all?"

Evelyn was not satisfied.

"What do you want, Miss Smith?"

Derek looked at her. If it weren't for the fact that Smith and Xavier families were partners and he couldn't offend Smith family openly, he wouldn't have stayed here to have such a meaningless conversation with her.

"I just came to J City, and knew nothing about this place. But I've heard the food here is good. Since Mr. Xavier wants to apologize, why don't you treat me to a dinner?"

Derek frowned. So that was her real intention after a long conversation.

The man subconsciously wanted to say no, but Evelyn looked at him. "Won't the Xaviers treat a guest and partner from afar to a dinner?"

Hearing this, Derek resisted the thought of refusing.

He is now representing the Xaviers. If his partner personally came to J City to discuss business, but wasn't treated by him with courtesy, the Xaviers's reputation would be blotted once words get out.

"Miss Smith, what do you want to eat?"

Derek stopped talking to Evelyn, took out the car keys and walked out.

Evelyn understood that he agreed. "Anything will be fine, as long as dining with you."

Derek raised his eyebrows. Since that was the case... he had an idea, but he didn't know if Evelyn could handle it.

The two of them walked out the door of the Xavier Group. Followed by Evelyn, Derek, probably dissatisfied with her forceful invitation, walked very fast, without any intention of taking care of her inconvenient walking in high heels.

Evelyn bit her lips. As she was about to speak, she caught a glimpse of light flashing through the corner. Instead of revealing her resent, she rushed a few steps with a smile and took Derek's hand, swepting his arm with her long hair and rubbing her breast against his back.

"What are you doing?"
