Derek heard Easton's words, but he didn't jump into action as quickly as Easton thought.
On the contrary, he seemed overly calm.
"Dad, what's wrong?"
Easton suddenly had a bad feeling.
Derek couldn't tell what was going on either. Maybe it was because he had talked to Meredith many times in the past few days, but she turned him down every time.
Now, he didn't know how to say it.
If he talked to Meredith again and got the same answer, then he really had no hope at all.
Therefore, the man who had always been fearless had some concerns at the moment.
Perhaps it was because he cared so much about her that he was so concerned.
When Easton saw that Derek was silent, he suddenly became nervous.
What was going on? They were on the verge of reconciliation, but neither of them wanted to take a step forward.
It would be a pity if they missed each other like that.
The more Easton thought about it, the more he was convinced there was something fishy about it. He touched his chin and suddenly came up with an idea.
Anyway, he must help them. Even if he lied, they wouldn't be angry, would they?
Derek did not notice Easton's change. Derek looked at the snow-white wall and seemed to be lost in his thoughts.
After Easton came up with the idea, he was not in the mood to waste time here. Moreover, he knew that the person his father wanted to see most now was not him, but his mother.
"Dad, have a good rest then. I'll go back first. Don't worry. I'll find a way to get mom to come and see you."
After that, Easton ran away in a hurry.
Derek looked at his back and couldn't help shaking his head. This kid talked like a grown-up.
Easton returned to the hospital. Meredith had just come out of Amelia's ward.
Ellie came to visit Amelia today. Meredith left, so that Amelia could talk to her long-lost daughter.
As soon as Easton left the house, he cried and threw himself into Meredith's arms.
Meredith was shocked.
Easton had high self-esteem. He wouldn't be like this if something serious hadn't happened.
"Easton, what's wrong?" Meredith immediately asked worriedly.
Easton just went to see Derek. Why did he come back like this?
Could something have happened to Derek?
But Easton didn't say anything and kept crying. His strange behavior made Meredith very anxious.
"Easton, what's going on? Don't cry. Tell me what's wrong. If you don't tell me, I won't be able to help you."
