Derek's face darkened again. He held Meredith's hand and threw her into the car.
"You apologize to me just to escape me and go out with Parker?"
"Meredith, for him, and for the bastard in your belly, you're really willing to do anything."
Derek became angrier. She could even bow for another man.
In that case, he would not let them get what they wanted.
When Meredith saw that he would not listen to her, she was helpless. No matter what she said, Derek just ignored her.
The car stopped soon.
"Get out of the car."
Meredith didn't want to get off at first. But when she saw the man's threatening gaze, she thought he was likely to force her to get off by using coercive measures, so she had to do what he asked.
When she got out of the car, she realized that it was a high-class apartment in the city center. Because of the high price, people who lived here had high incomes.
"Why did you bring me here..."
Meredith had no idea what Derek was going to do.
"From today onwards, you will live here." Derek took out a key and threw it into her hand. "Don't let me see anyone who shouldn't be here."
Meredith didn't want to take the key at all. Was Derek going to monitor her life? However, they had nothing to do with each other.
Even couples didn't monitor each other's every move remotely.
"Derek, it's too..."
"You can choose to go back to the hospital or the Xaviers. Don't think that I'll forget what you've done, even if we get divorced."
Derek glanced at her and there was no room for negotiation.
Meredith thought for a moment. It might be better to live here than in the hospital, so she could only agree weakly.
"Where's my stuff?" After thinking about it, she remembered her bits and pieces again.
Derek pointed to a suitcase in the corner. Meredith looked at it and said nothing.
"Don't forget to go to the company tomorrow."
When Derek saw that Meredith didn't go against him, his attitude softened a little. But he ordered her again.
Meredith frowned. Didn't she resign already?
Speaking of the work, she had just found a job. However, it was messed up by Derek. She disappeared for several days after the interview. No company would want such an employee as her.
"You didn't even hand over your work and just left. What kind of place do you think Xavier Group is?"
Derek pinned her down using the excuse of the work handover.
Meredith thought for a moment. The most she usually did was doing some cleaning. At most, she would make coffee for Derek and run errands for Damian.
"Well, when can I resign?"
Meredith didn't want to have anything to do with Derek. At worst, she would hand it over before leaving.
"Until I'm satisfied."
After Derek finished speaking, Meredith was speechless.
What he just said meant nothing. It seemed that if he wasn't happy, she wouldn't leave the Xavier Group.
However, since Derek didn't force her to abort the child, Meredith didn't care about it anymore.
She didn't believe that Derek would keep her by his side all the time. Was he going to let her take maternity leave and pay her?
