Chapter 129
Stephen noticed the unusual gazes at him and knew the people in the meeting room had opinions about his previous work.
Hence, he stood up and said, “I know some of you have a different opinion about me. I totally understand it. I might not be the main cause of the downfall of North Hill City and Seaside City, but I was still involved, and I admit that I didn’t do a good job.
“But I ask you to trust me one more time.”
The people in the meeting room were shocked. They thought the young man from Metropolis would be an arrogant one, but he spoke politely and seemed to be a rational one. He also sounded sincere, as if he truly wanted to make up for the losses.
His tone and attitude made them look at him differently. Maybe Stephen was not all useless; maybe he truly wanted to serve the people and develop the city’s economy.
“Alright! We’re at your service!”
“I believe you will lead us to new heights!”
Stephen’s lips curled into a smile as he announced, “This meeting is held to discuss Aqual City’s future development.”
Everyone looked at Stephen, eager to hear his plans.
“I believe everyone knows Aqua City is famous for its aquatic scenery. The mountains and beaches here are ranked first in Riveria and one of the best in the country. However, it is known for its freshwater produce as well. So, I have decided to tackle these two aspects.
“We will developm
tourist spots and import more non–local aquatic species into the city. At the same time, we have to ensure balance in the city’s development. Since the city’s industrial area is relatively weak, I plan to invite more businesses to expand here and fill that gap.”
Everyone was surprised to find Stephen’s idea brilliant.
If his idea succeeded, Aqua City could be transformed into a well–rounded city, boasting stunning landscapes, abundant freshwater produce, and a fully developed industrial sector. However, they also realized two underlying problems.
“Your plan seems to be in conflict with Ethan River’s plan.”
“Second, it’s not easy trying to bring in more companies and investment.
Stephen smirked, saying, “Ethan’s plans for Aqua City are outdated and no longer viable for the city. If you continue with his plans, it will stun the city’s growth. Only my plan can take the city to new heights!”

Everyone could not help but agree with his idea
“You’re right. Ethan’s plans are outdated.”
“Aqua City’s GDP has remained the same for some time now.”
“I’ve always thought Ethan’s plans were problematic.”
A few believed the mapped–out and restricted city development was a waste of land and
resources.
