Chapter 176
“What are you doing here? There’s a whole group of people guarding you at Drakthorn Ridge!”
Ethan said calmly, “You’ve gone to Lytton and seen Crestwood. None of their people could stop me. Why do you think a few of your men could keep an eye on me?”
Furthermore, he had once moved freely through the South Regent’s army.
For a moment, Stephen was speechless. He recalled his experience entering Crestwood with a group of people, only to end up tossed into a pile of trash, humiliated.
Ethan slowly walked over to the grassy patch and sat down next to Stephen.
He asked, “Have you ever thought about this while lying here? Years ago, Snow was just a carefree girl. She used to lie here and watch the stars too.”
Stephen fell silent.
He turned his head slightly, and in a daze, he seemed to see Snow lying beside him, smiling gently at him.
She said, “The stars are so beautiful.”
Stephen reached out to touch her but stopped halfway through.
He did not dare to. He was afraid that if he touched her, the Snow before him would vanish
the one he had seen in the cell.

Ethan spoke softly, “She’s not dead.”
Those words hit Stephen like a bolt of lightning, exploding in his ears. He jumped to his feet, his eyes wide and filled with excitement and hope.
Even Liam was stunned when he heard Snow was not dead. He had watched as Snow’s eyes closed, and multiple autopsies had confirmed that she had starved to death, so how could she still be alive?
However, then it clicked. It was Ethan they were talking about, after all!
The drug he had given her must have caused some kind of fake death, and while tricking everyone, he arranged to have her rescued.
When Liam realized that, he found himself even more shocked.
“Snow was as good as dead, but Mr. Rivers managed to save her!”
Everyone on the internet witnessed Stephen ending their relationship, and she had even decided to die. Despite their wealth and power, there was nothing the Quinns could do.

That was why he did not expect Ethan to orchestrate a fake death and successfully save Snow. What was more astonishing was that Snow chose to live in the end!
“Is she really still alive?” Stephen asked, his breathing rapid.
The thought filled him with hope. If Snow was still alive, he still had a chance to apologize and make it up to her. Most importantly, they could still have a future together!
Ethan did not speak. Instead, he pulled out a letter from earlier in the afternoon. Stephen took the letter with trembling hands and froze when he saw the first word.
It was Snow’s handwriting. It looked just like the one in the letter she left him, meaning Snow was really alive!
