Stephen and George’s faces went pale. 

Aqua City was done for. Even if they had decided to back Oliver, Aqua City would need several years to fully recover, and it was years they simply did not have. Even then, it would only be a recovery. Aqua City would not be able to surpass its previous state. 

George sighed as he looked at Stephen. “Look at what you’ve done.” 

Stephen was helpless. “I didn’t know things would turn out like this either. I didn’t expect everyone to oppose my decision this much.” 

Stephen thought that everyone would be happy to go into more industrial development. 

George replied, “You didn’t give people time to prepare. You were cutting off their income streams. Of course, they had a problem with it. 

Seven days later, Oliver’s plan had started to achieve some results, and Aqua City was no longer as chaotic as before. 

George seemed satisfied. “You’ve done well. Backing you was indeed the best choice.” 

Oliver smiled. He was not just trying to help George. His true goal was to build his own business empire. Eventually, the entire Aqua City would have to follow his orders! What he wanted was not to help run Aqua City but to take control of Aqua City! 

“Why isn’t Stephen here?” Oliver asked with a smile. 

George’s expression turned complicated as he replied, “He didn’t want to come, or perhaps he doesn’t want to see you.” 

Oliver had exposed Snow, causing Snow to disappear without a trace, and Stephen feared that if he saw Oliver, he would not be able to stop himself from taking a swing at the man. 

However, he could not harm Oliver now, Aqua City’s survival depended on Oliver now. If anything were to happen to Oliver, Stephen would not be able to explain himself. 

“How can he assist you in running Riveria if he’s such a coward?” Oliver mocked. “Your position now is no longer the same, 

“Everyone knows that you’re running Riveria and that Riveria’s GDP is far lower from before. If you manage to raise Riveria’s GDP to 20 trillion, you’ll surely be able to join the 

cabinet.

Seeing George lost in thought, Oliver added, “I’ve got other things to handle, so I’ll be going.” 

He then turned and left, leaving George alone with his thoughts.
