Stephen pondered for a moment. The situation was different now. It was no longer the Lowes relying on him and the Quinns to join the cabinet but him relying on the Lowes. That was why he had to apologize! 

If he did not, and the Lowes succeeded in developing Riveria, they might call off the engagement with the Quinns. By then, the Quinns would be left with nothing! 

After taking a deep breath, Stephen decided to apologize to Rachel. He could not gamble 

with his future! 

Soon, the Lowes‘ residence appeared before Stephen. When he entered, he saw Rachel sitting on the living room couch, scrolling through her phone. 

Stephen walked over and said softly, “Rachel.” 

Rachel raised her head to look at Stephen briefly but immediately ignored him. 

Her heart had been shattered. She had done so much for Stephen, but he ended up hitting and yelling at her. If it were for a woman more impressive than her, she would have accepted it, but it had to be Snow. 

Whether it was her looks or figure, how could Snow be compared to her? Not to mention,

Rachel then thought of Ethan, who had never raised his voice at her. He was always gentle and kind. Compared to him, Stephen was completely outclassed. 

Seeing that Rachel was ignoring him, Stephen forced an awkward smile. “Rachel, what I did was wrong, and I’ve come to apologize.” 

Hearing his apology, Rachel finally put down her phone to look at him. 

“You’re admitting your mistake? Then, tell me, what exactly did you do wrong?” 

Stephen paused, surprised that Rachel was not forgiving him but asking him what he did 

wrong. 

“Uhh…” After thinking about it for a moment, he explained, “I shouldn’t have yelled at you and hit you.” 

Rachel crossed her arms and leaned back on the couch, her tone icy. “What else?” 

What else? Stephen could not think of any other mistakes he had made. 

Rachel narrowed her eyes. She was disappointed. Stephen claimed he was there to apologize, but he did not even know what he had done wrong. 

Yelling at her and hitting her were not his only mistakes. What was worse was him falling

He may not be as capable as Ethan in running Riveria, but now even in matters of the heart, he fell short?
