Ethan looked at him and said, “Let’s talk about that when I get tired of the scenery here.” 

The South Regent smiled wryly, knowing Ethan was rejecting his offer. He then asked, ” Are you really not going to manage Riveria anymore?” 

This was the real purpose of the South Regent’s visit. He wanted to find out how Ethan felt towards Riveria. 

If Ethan still wanted to manage Riveria, there would be no game to play. No one here was a match for Ethan. 

If Ethan no longer intervened, then it would be every man for himself. 

Ethan took a sip of tea and said calmly, “Managing Riveria is the governor’s job. It has nothing to do with me.” 

The South Regent got excited. 

This answer meant that Ethan was not going to manage Riveria anymore. 

Their opportunity had truly arrived! 

After his initial burst of excitement, however, he felt a bit wistful, realizing that he would never have the chance to face off against Ethan again. 

“There are still many people in Riveria waiting for you. Are you really not going to take care of them?” 

Ethan had taken three years to turn Riveria from a war–torn place into the wealthiest province. 

During this time, he had won many people over and they were willing to silently contribute to Riveria alongside him. This included many local officials, some mayors, and numerous businesses. In a sense, they could be considered Ethan’s subordinates and comrades. 

The South Regent was worried that if Ethan did not let go of these people and suddenly wanted to regain control of Riveria, things would get very troublesome. All their schemes and plans would be in vain! 

Ethan took another sip of tea, then calmly looked at the South Regent. “If you see them, pass on a message for me. Tell them not to wait for me anymore.” 

The South Regent’s eyes widened, his body trembling. 

This answer of his! It completely dispelled all his doubts and unease! 

He stood up and respectfully said, “I understand.”

The South Regent left Drakthorn Rider with 

his people. He had come to Riveria for two. purposes. The first was to invite Ethan back with him. If he could bring Ethan back, Riveria would completely lose its protector, and if he could get Ethan’s assistance, he would become even stronger. 

Ethan alone was worth a million strong soldiers! 

The second purpose was to confirm whether Ethan would still protect Riveria. If he would still intervene, then no one could truly take over Riveria. Although he could not persuade Ethan to come with him, at least, he confirmed that Ethan would not intervene anymore. 

The South Regent hurried away. He needed to start planning how to reap great benefits from Riveria. 

After getting into the car, he took one last look at Drakthorn Ridge.. 

“In the future, tell the subordinates to be more observant. Don’t bother Drakthorn Ridge or Sky Peak.” 

Ethan was on Drakthorn Ridge, and the Grand Marshal’s tomb was on Sky Peak. 

The subordinates in the car nodded vigorously. They had faced Ethan before and knew how terrifying he was. 

If even the South Regent dared not offend him, how could they? 

On the way back, the South Regent received a call from the mayor of Celestial City. 

“Your Highness, that wealthy investor is about to arrive.”
