Chapter 27
“Would someone like Ethan be involved in corruption?”
“Why would he?”
“If a person of his status and prestige so much as mentioned he was short on cash, people would probably line up to give him money?”
Stephen felt dizzy listening to those comments.
“How could this be? How could none of these suitcases be filled with money?”
He simply could not believe that what they found were thank–you letters.
While he was grappling with his confusion, another official came running from outside, shouting, “We’ve made a new discovery at one of the other villas.”
Stephen’s eyes immediately lit up, like a drowning man grasping at straws.
“What discoveries? Did you find money?”
The official was taken aback, not expecting such a strong reaction from Stephen, but he replied, “Not money. They’re letters from readers and viewers.”
Stephen was dumbfounded. “Readers? Viewers?”
What was all that about? The thank–you letters were already pretty bizarre, but now there were readers and viewers too?
The official handed Stephen several letters to look at, and the first line stunned Stephen. “Dear author of “The Grumpy Paupers‘… Respected author of ‘The Bell Ringer‘… Huh?” The Grumpy Paupers and The Bell Ringer were world–famous classics. Their stories were brilliant and philosophical, impacting countless people globally. Did Ethan really write those?
Stephen’s hands shook uncontrollably as he quickly looked at the other letters.
“Hello, director of ‘The Cosmic Conundrum‘ TV series… Greetings, director of the ‘An Aquatic Adventure‘ TV series… Dear director of The Globetrotters‘ movie…”
Stephen suddenly felt short of breath.
Ethan had directed The Cosmic Conundrum and The Globetrotters? They were the most popular TV series at the moment. Even he was a devoted fan of both. In fact, his entire family was obsessed with them, and everyone in his social circle was a fan.
Each of those works was a phenomenal hit, known worldwide. However, the authors of those works had always been a mystery.

Chapter 27
Everyone only knew their pen name but had never seen them in person. Due to their anonymity, some often joked online that they were allens froin another planet.
While those were just jokes, Stephen had often wondered who were the authors of those works. What kind of knowledge and experience did one need to write such classic masterpieces?
However, at long last, the truth was finally out of the bag. He finally knew who the author of all those masterpieces was. It was Ethan Rivers, the man he wanted to crush under his feet and the man who had saved Riveria from the brink of collapse.
“How can it be him? Why does it have to be him? Of all people, why is it him?”
Stephen was shaken, and the world suddenly felt like an unfamiliar place.
As the search continued, it was not long before people found some bank cards and transaction statements in the villas.
Upon inspection, every single transaction was clean. They were mostly royalties and profit shares from his works. Each sum was huge, with the smallest being 10 million dollars and the largest reaching 50 million dollars!
