Chapter 338
Simon felt numb after understanding what had happened.
He thought Stephen’s silence meant everything was progressing smoothly in Hill City, but now, it was clear that something big had been brewing behind the scenes. Even he found it difficult to handle the situation.
In a hospital in Hill City, Stephen and George watched as a white sheet was draped over Julius.
His parents wept beside him, so devastated they almost fainted; a woman lay sobbing over Julius‘ body, and a four- or five–year–old girl stood to the side, her wide eyes looking around in confusion.
Stephen remained silent. George, on the other hand, was bandaged all over, all minor injuries from his struggle with Julius. However, he did not feel the pain at all.
His eyes reddened as he turned away from the scene in front of him. If not for him, Julius would not be dead, and his parents and wife would not be grieving
Julius‘ child, a girl, who had no idea what was happening, walked over to Stephen and
George.
She asked, “Where’s my daddy?”
Stephen and George could no longer stop the tears from rolling down their cheeks. They looked up at the ceiling, not wanting the child to see them crying, unable to face her.
Both of them had been deceived and manipulated by Nico. Only Julius had the courage and strength to stand against him. However, because they did not trust Julius, Julius had to sacrifice his life to stop Nico. If not for Julius, the situation would have been worse.
Just then, Julius‘ wife ran over and pounded Stephen’s shoulder in anguish. “Give me back my husband! Give him back!”
Stephen knew he was wrong, so he did not fight back. He silently accepted her blows until security pulled her away.
Stephen said powerlessly, “I’m sorry.”
“You ruined North Hill City, Seaside City, Aqua City, and Celestial City, but he had done so much for Hill City. Why did he have to die, not you?”
The woman screamed and crouched on the ground, sobbing again.
Stephen lowered his head in guilt. His face felt prickly, and the air was so heavy that he found it hard to breathe. He turned to leave. Another second in there would be unbearable.
George looked at Julius‘ body, then followed Stephen out.

Chapter 338
Once they were outside, Stephen made a call to arrange for Julius‘ family to be cared for, especially the girl. He would cover all her expenses from now until her wedding day.
After the call, he struggled to compose himself,
He looked at George and said, “Let’s go and see Nico.”
