Chapter 41
“Oh, now I remember!” Brandon said with a smile. “I forgot about it all after taking a nap”
Eric slammed his hands on the table when he heard Brandon dozing off again.
Brandon’s smile remained wide and bright because he was unafraid of Eric. “Commander, calm down. We’re all farmers in the town. It’s normal for us to take naps.”
Eric refused to take the excuse for an answer. Even if Brandon did take a nap, he should not have left Eric in the sun for hours.
“Make me some tea,” Eric barked, not even trying to be polite.
Back when he visited with the old commander, tea would be served automatically, without needing to be requested. Now that he came alone and saw no one taking the initiative to serve him, he had to speak up.
Brandon glanced at Sky, who quickly got the message and went off to make tea.
Brandon then asked Eric, “Commander, what brings you here alone? Where are the other two? Did they run away because Ethan got arrested?”
“Nonsense!” Eric rolled his eyes at Brandon and then continued with a hint of disdain, “If they were still here, they would be the ones behind bars.”

Brandon barely managed to contain his excitement, pushing for more information. “Ethan seems like a nice guy. Did he really get arrested for bribery and corruption?”
“He did.”
Eric shot Brandon a condescending look as if the man had been living under a rock. How could he not know about that?
“He has been locked up for days. For all we know, he might not even look like himself
anymore.

That shut Brandon up, and he had no more questions after that.
At that moment, Sky returned with some tea and said with a smile, “Commander, your
tea.”
Eric looked at him and bellowed, “Can’t you pour me a cup? You want me to drink from the teapot? You guys are polite when the other commander is here, but why are you doing this to me? Am I not a commander?”
Brandon and Sky exchanged a quick glance, surprised that Eric would ask such a question. It seemed like the new commander knew nothing.
Sky poured the boiling tea onto Eric’s lap.

Chapter 41
“Ah!”
Eric screamed and bolted up, tapping his thighs nervously.
“What the hell are you doing? Are you out of your mind?”
Sky smiled and said, “Commander, you asked for tea, didn’t you? I poured you some tea.
Eric’s eyes widened in disbelief, and when he saw the smirk on Sky’s face, he instantly, understood everything.
No one took him seriously–no wonder he was left under the sun for hours; no wonder Sky showed no respect to him, and no wonder Brandon simply brushed him off with a lame excuse. They never took him seriously in the first place.
