Chapter 84
Stephen quickly sought out Howard’s men.
“Howard has been arrested, but fear not because you can work for me.”

Stephen’s men barged into the place, guns blazing. The speech bore striking similarities to Dennis‘ recent remarks, and Howard’s people quickly came to a decision.
Sure enough, their peace was short–lived. Here came another to recruit their services.
Even though pleading allegiance to Stephen would get them killed, they could not say no to his face. They would be done for if Stephen had them arrested on the spot. Hence, they expressed their loyalty to Stephen.
With Howard’s forces yielding to him, Stephen burst out in laughter.
“I win this time. I took the fruits of your labor, Ethan. How are you going to react when you find out?”
Stephen could not wait to fly to Drakthorn Ridge to tell Ethan. However, he still had more things to do in Seaside City.
After Stephen left, everybody set out for Crestwood and joined Dennis‘ gang.
Dennis laughed out loud at the turnout.
“Haha! Even God is on my side. Don’t worry. I have an exit strategy figured out for you.
“Start a riot in Seaside City and make lots of money. Then, I will take you across the border.
“With 10 to 20 million dollars each, you should be able to live comfortably for the rest of your life.”
The incentive ignited a fire under everybody’s ass. It was a huge amount of money. Even with a lifetime of honest work, they might not be able to save up a tenth of that amount.
“Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Wait for my call to start the operation. Now isn’t the best time to take action.” He planned to strike once Stephen left for Riveria.
Dennis was not reckless. He had become a lot more cautious since losing his son and his best men to Ethan. Ethan had taught him a painful lesson, and he would wake up screaming from nightmares about Ethan at night.
Two days later, Stephen made it back to Riveria, just in time for Howard’s trial. Howard was found guilty of multiple charges, including murder and assault, and was sentenced to life imprisonment. He would spend the rest of his life in prison.
Howard kept his head down throughout, too tired to defend himself. However, as he was led away, he saw Dennis in the crowd, watching him with a look of sympathy. Dennis knew

that from now on, he would no longer have a rival.
With Howard locked up for life, it could only mean one thing since Ethan did not show up: Ethan was a goner too. Without Ethan and Howard, Dennis would call the shots in Seaside
City.
Howard glanced at Dennis and said nothing before being taken away.
Once Howard disappeared out of sight, Dennis got up and left. He had only come to see Howard get the death penalty, but instead of dying, Howard was now sentenced to life imprisonment–an outcome more cruel than death itself.
