Chapter 94
“Get him!”
Stephen shouted for his man to capture Dennis. However, the moment he spoke, he felt dizzy and weak.
“Thud!”
He collapsed awkwardly into a nearby chair, barely able to keep himself upright. All his bodyguards also fell to the ground, unable to move.
A group of men then walked in from the courtyard, collected the guns from the bodyguards, dragged them away, and soon disappeared from sight.
Stephen watched the scene in terror.
“What did you do to us?” he demanded.
Dennis glanced at the diffuser and said, “It’s just a simple trick. Actually, the antidote is in the tea I serve you, but it’s a shame you missed your chance. Maybe you’re just too stupid to realize.”
Stephen felt like he was about to explode from sheer frustration.
The tea was right in front of him the whole time, but he had no strength left in him now. All he could do now was stare at it, not drink it.
Not long ago, Dennis had pushed the cup toward him, but he scoffed at the idea of drinking it. Now, it was all he could think about.
“Why are you doing this?” Stephen asked angrily, “Why did you poison us? Why did you stir up chaos in Seaside City again after three years of peace? Why couldn’t you maintain the peace?”
Dennis took a sip of tea before answering, “Although you’ve asked a lot of whys, I can only answer them with one sentence: it’s because you’re not Ethan.‘
Stephen was instantly struck speechless, finally understanding why Dennis made his move again and threw Seaside City into immense danger again!
Most importantly, Ethan had once come to Crestwood and brought peace to Seaside City by forcing Crestwood to back down. However, when Stephen came to do the same, he ended up falling right into Dennis‘ trap.
It was the same action, but it yielded completely different outcomes, and the realization stung deeply.
Was he really not as good as Ethan?

Stephen asked nervously, “What are you going to do to us now?”
“Relax.” Dennis smiled, “I won’t touch you. I just want to have a chat.”
Stephen’s position was too significant to be taken lightly. He was the son of the Quinns and was currently managing Riveria. If Dennis were to lay a hand on Stephen, he would not be able to escape; even if he managed to escape, he would be relentlessly pursued.
Stephen was slightly relieved to know his life was not in immediate danger.
“What do you want to talk about?” he asked.
“There’s actually something I’m quite curious about. Why would someone like you dare to take over Riveria?”
Stephen frowned. “What’s wrong with me? In terms of ability, I’m no less capable than Ethan, and in terms of family background, I surpass him by far. If Ethan can manage Riveria, so can I!”
Dennis met his gaze. “But here’s the thing–you’ve been captured by me now.”
“It was just a moment of mistake.”
“Ethan wouldn’t have made such a mistake,” Dennis said.
Stephen retorted, “That’s hard to say.‘
“You’re overestimating yourself and underestimating him.”
Dennis took another sip of tea and said calmly, “If he were here now, he’d probably say
this to you: Don’t talk. Your ignorant attitude is suffocating me.”
Dennis had been told that by Ethan so many times that he had memorized it.
