Once Stephen was taken away, he instructed his subordinates to speed up. 

Stephen’s arrival meant that the news of Seaside City’s unrest had spread, so they did not have much time left. They had to act quickly and make money fast! 

Half a day later, Stephen was found in a pile of garbage on the side of the road by a passerby. 

When the mayor heard of it, he was horrified. He rushed to the hospital to see Stephen. 

As soon as he walked into the ward, he saw Stephen sitting on the hospital bed, his eyes hollow and devoid of any light. 

The mayor’s heart sank. How could Stephen have gone to Crestwood and returned alone, looking like that? 

“Sir?” The mayor stepped forward and asked, “Are you okay?” 

Stephen slowly came to his senses. The truth had been such a large blow that he still had not fully recovered from it yet. 

The mayor spoke again, “There’s something I need to report. Due to the situation in North Hill City, not many can come as reinforcements. We might not be able to stabilize the current situation in Seaside City.” 

Upon hearing about the lack of manpower and the inability to stabilize Seaside City’s situation, Stephen finally came to his senses. 

Seaside City was chaotic enough already, and it could not afford to get any worse! 

Stephen took a deep breath and asked, “Not enough people?” 

The mayor nodded. 

Stephen regretted it. If nothing happened in North Hill City and Seaside City still had enough security forces, everything would have been fine. 

“I’ll figure something out.” 

Bringing in reinforcements here from further away was a solution, but it would take time. By the time those reinforcements arrived, Seaside City might already be in ruins. 

Their first priority now was to quickly stabilize the situation. At the very least, they needed a force capable of slowing down the chaos in Seaside City and buying time for the main reinforcements to arrive. 

“I’ve got it!” 

Stephen thought of Howard.

That man had guarded Seaside City and brought it three years of peace, so he must have a lot of experience. With Seaside City’s crisis now, even if Howard could not solve the situation, he would at least be able to hold the line until the reinforcements came. 

“Notify the state government immediately and have them release Howard.” 

As long as Howard came back, there would be hope for Seaside City! 

Having quickly received the news, Liam arrived at Howard’s cell and said, “Come with us to Seaside City.” 

Howard asked, “What for?” 

“There’s been a problem in Seaside City that requires your help.” 

“Hahaha!” Howard laughed. “You slapped a bunch of charges on me to lock me up for life, you take me and now that you need me, you want to take me to back Seaside City. What do for?” 

Liam sighed helplessly. That was not his decision, after all. In fact, he had his own issues with Stephen, so he did not blame Howard for being angry. 

Thus, he simply took out his phone, dialed Stephen’s number, and passed the phone to Howard. “You talk to Stephen.” 

It did not take long for the call to connect.
