Grandma turned her head impatiently. Henry gulped and cautiously asked, "Mom, what about Chris?"
Henry was still a father, after all. Chris was the only son who had earned his approval. In fact, Chris was basically his only son at the moment, so he found it difficult to let go.
"You're still thinking about him?" A murderous glint flashed in Grandma's eyes, which made Henry break out in a cold sweat. He quickly averted his gaze and didn't dare to say another word.
Grandma closed her eyes and snorted coldly. "Don't worry. I won't let your son rot in prison. Joplin Group still needs him."
He was a useful puppet that she didn't plan to give up on for now.
Henry breathed a sigh of relief at those words.
…
After a few days, Chris was finally released.
He fumed when he learned the reason behind his release. The day he got out, he was surrounded by the media.
"Mr. Joplin, is it true that you faked your identity and deceived Henry Joplin into thinking you're his son?"
"Did you and your mother do that to obtain the Joplin family's wealth?"
"Mr. Joplin, regarding the matter of selling your sister, do you have an explanation for that?"
"She's only 18. How could you be so heartless?"
The reporters' relentless questions set off Chris' temper.
He glared at them angrily as he shouted, "All of you, get lost!"
"Are you panicking because we're close to the truth?"
