After settling Yolanda, I finally had time to look into those rumors. The media described the situation in vivid detail. It was as if I really was having an affair with Yolanda. Someone had even dug out a photo of me leaving Yolanda's home.
The photo clearly showed my face but conveniently cropped out the lower half of my body. In the photo, Yolanda was leaning against me, and it looked like we were being very intimate.
The key part was that Yolanda actually had to be dragged out of her home that day. She didn't even have the strength to walk, and her whole body was disheveled.
The photographer was quite good at finding the right angle.
"Who took this photo?" I asked.
Murphy respectfully answered, "I think it was a passerby."
"A passerby couldn't have taken a shot like this. It has to be an experienced paparazzo," I said.
The angle and composition just too accurately reflected a sense of false intimacy. Only a seasoned professional would be able to manipulate the image to lead to misunderstandings.
"Find this person and figure out who's behind it," I ordered.
There was no way they would have dared to publish such a photo without someone orchestrating it.
I glanced at Murphy and asked about the Joplin family's situation.
"It seems that Chris really managed to secure funding. It looks like a portion of it were loans from banks," Murphy reported.
He still didn't have enough to fully cover their losses, but it definitely covered up some holes.
I mused, "It looks like Yolanda's marriage really could have gotten him a lot of money."
I couldn't help but wonder who Chris had struck a deal with. Normally, there was no way anyone would be worth that much no matter how beautiful they were. Yolanda must have something unique that no one else did.
What could it be?
She wasn't particularly stunning. She was just an average young lady who had just come of age.
