"No worries. I understand," Federrick said with a smile. "I was only joking. You don't have to treat me as your father. Consider The Herbalist's Sanctuary your home. I've taken in a lot of kids over the years, but I've never thought of any of them as my own children. They're just my little apprentices."

Federrick stood up and turned to Connie. "Connie, I'm trusting you with this."

"Laura, let's get ready and head out," Connie said.

After packing up, Laura and Connie got in the car and set off for the city center in Amberton.

As the scenery outside the window blurred past them, Laura felt a rare sense of ease. It had been so long since she had taken a trip like this without worry.

The breeze smelled fresh, and the sights along the way were beautiful.

The Herbalist's Sanctuary was quite far from the city, so Connie drove for several hours before finally reaching the city.
