With a somber expression, Samuel stated assertively, “How could it have nothing to do with Casimir? They’ve been friends since childhood, and you were once engaged to Casimir. Now, you’re involved with his close friend. What kind of situation is this? Regardless, I forbid you to have any dealings with Percival. Samuel raised his hand, poised to deliver a slap, when suddenly, someone firmly gripped his wrist.

Percival had been searching all the way, and from a distance, he spotted two people engaged in an argument.

Seeing Samuel about to hit Raylee, he couldn’t help but thunder, “Mr. Goodridge, hitting a woman is not something a man should do. A man’s hands are meant to conquer the world!”

“It’s you? I haven’t even settled the score with you, yet you have the audacity to show up in front of me?” Samuel said in a menacing tone.

“I have always been open and aboveboard. Why should I fear to appear before you?” Percival asked, a look of confusion on his face. “Also, what issue do you have with me? I don’t seem to have a conflict with you, Mr. Goodridge.”

Raylee didn’t want Samuel’s suspicions to taint Percival’s ears, so she gently pulled on his arm and said, “Dr. Shapiro, he’s had one too many, just here ranting in his drunken stupor. Don’t mind him. Let’s get going quickly.”

“All right.”

Although Percival didn’t quite understand, he didn’t press for answers. He left with Raylee.

Raylee even rested her hand on Percival’s arm.
