Halston was taken aback. “What? Haven’t you cut ties with the Goodridge family? You even shot the door lock open! That’s a clear–cut case of breaking and entering!”
Raylee flashed a cunning smile. “What’s wrong with that? You helped me move all that stuff, so you’re an accomplice too!”
Halston wore a mournful expression. “Wait, how am I an accomplice? Ray–Ray, are you purposely setting me up?”
Raylee gently patted his shoulder, soothingly saying, “How can you say I’ve set you up? We’re in the same boat here, after all. If the Goodridge family starts seeking revenge, you’ll just have to find a way to calm them down!”
Choked with tears, Halston found himself feeling rather wronged.
Following that, Raylee had him make another trip to the Goodridge residence on his motorcycle.
The Goodridge family didn’t allow her to enter, but that was no problem as the heir of the Mulligan family served as their ticket in anyway.
Following Halston, they confidently strode into the Goodridge residence.
Without uttering another word, Raylee thoroughly searched through Alaric’s study, bedroom, and even the storeroom.
Still, there was no sight of Vera’s safe, which inevitably made her feel anxious.
Alaric had hidden his safe incredibly well.
Does he really think he has me defeated? Dream on!
Several housekeepers anxiously trailed behind her. “Ms. Raylee, this is the Goodridge residence, you can’t just rummage
around! You’ll get in trouble if Mr. Goodridge finds out and calls the police!”
“Ray–Ray, what exactly are you looking for? You should talk to your foster parents or maybe ask Samuel. Please, don’t resort to burglary again!” Halston pleaded with a sorrowful expression on his face.
“If I could have asked, would I have needed to come look for it myself?”
With a heavy huff, Raylee turned around and headed back to the living room.
Following that, she detonated a small bomb, destroying Alaric’s favorite coffee table and liquor cabinet.
Suddenly, the mansion was filled with thick smoke.
Boom!
With a thunderous boom, Halston and the housekeepers in the house were so startled that they crouched on the ground.
The bomb wasn’t very powerful, so no one would get hurt as long as they kept their distance.
However, Alaric’s treasured collection of fine coffee beans and alcohol were completely destroyed. Those were his prized possessions.
Once the smoke had somewhat cleared, Raylee left a message for the housekeepers by saying, “Inform Mr. Goodridge that he needs to hand over Old Mrs. Goodridge’s safe! The explosion earlier was merely a small welcome gift. If he doesn’t return the safety deposit box, I’ll come back and blow up the entire Goodridge residence! At most, we’ll all die together!”
The housekeepers were so frightened that they didn’t dare to say a word.
After delivering a harsh ultimatum, Raylee left the Goodridge residence.
Halston was still dumbfounded, but when he saw her leaving, he quickly followed.
First, she had the audacity to pick a lock with a gun, and then she brazenly threatened to bomb the Goodridge residence.
Raylee was constantly pushing the limits of what he could accept.

“Ray–Ray, this is the Goodridge residence we’re talking about! You can’t just bomb it like that… I could handle a burglary case out in the suburbs, but blowing up someone’s house? If Mr. Goodridge decides to investigate it, then I’ll be done for!” Halston said nervously.
Raylee replied, “It’s you who’ll be done for, not me. Listen to my advice, and no matter what difficulties you encounter, you’ll be back on your feet twenty years from now. However, I believe in you. After all, you’re the heir of the Mulligan family. There’s nothing in this city of Jexburgh that you can’t handle. I’m rooting for you!”
“I…” Revitalized by the shower of praises, Halston found his spirits lifted. “Heh! It’s but a minor issue, so don’t you worry! Leave it to me; I’ll help you handle it!”
