“Well, Alan, you better not make a scene here. Accept my invitation and let’s get wasted.” Dave Chou despised hypocrisy. He talked straight to the point.
“What about a bottle of wine?” Alan Hoyle laughed.
“Let’s go.” Dave Chou invited Ivy Aldington along.
He got up and went inside.
Olive Steele watched three of them entering the private longue.
Aoba Hoyle pouted, “Hi, sister-in-law, I heard that man likes you.”
“Don’t talk about me. Let’s talk about you.” she came here to ask him about Chloe Malan. Alan Hoyle told her to stay out of it. It was true that feelings were personal, but she couldn’t help feeling anxious looking at both of them.
“Don’t talk about this. Besides, my brother is not here, so I won’t tell.” said Aoba Hoyle.
“It’s no longer a secret. You don’t have to be discreet. Come on, tell me, how do you feel about Chloe Malan?” she didn’t want to beat around the bush with him. Also, she didn’t what the three men inside the private longue could talk about.
Aoba Hoyle who looked up and happy just now, suddenly looked stiff, “Sister-in-law, do you think I’m unreliable?”
Perhaps, because he was unreliable, he couldn’t give Chloe Malan a sense of security she wanted. Thus, because of insecurity, she refused to give him a chance to prove that he could fight against the transactional marriage with his mother like his older brother. It was a checkmate for him since the beginning.
“You really do look like an unreliable person.” Olive Steele sipped her wine. There was an indescribable feeling in her heart. If Mrs. Hoyle was kicked out of the equation, she would like him to be with Chloe Malan. However, with Mrs. Hoyle’s existence, everything became unsure. It was probably Chloe Malan’s concern.
“So, you agree.” Aoba Hoyle smiled bitterly.
His older brother confirmed this and now, when he was seeking advice from his sister-in-law, she confirmed it again. There was no one supporting him. He looked like a fool here.
Olive Steele looked at the woman singing on the stage. If a woman waited until late at night, wasted her youth without regret, and he was to love her, she would be loyal forever.
She felt that Chloe Malan was singing to her younger self, warning her not to repeat the ugly days, “Give her some space.”
If he pushed too hard, she would step away. How could he not understand such a simple theory? He thought that she was complicated, but she thought that he knew nothing.
Alan Hoyle’s face changed, “Are you telling me to give up?”
